Hello ,every one ,welcome back to our English class. This class we will talk about a new grammar, what’s that let’s get started.
Time flies. Winter vication is coming in a blink of an eye. What are your plans for the upcoming winter vication
Do you want to go on a trip To feel the cultures of different parts of the world
And enjoyed the different styles of beauty and food from all over the world. If you want,what should we prepare for our trip
Maybe we need to prepare passports and visas. We also need to check the wearher forecast for our destination so that we can pack our bags better.
When we arrive at the destination, we need a travel guide book. And what kind of transport can we choose We can drive, take the train or a ship and so on.
Ok, now let’s take a look at the winter vication plans of other students.

First, let’s hear about Lily’s plan.
Q: Lily,where do you want to go
A: We are leaving for the romantic Paris this winter vication.

Step 2 Presentation
Ok, boys and girls,please look at these sentences.
We are leaving for the romantic Paris this winter vacation.
My parents and I are going to the Potala Palace in Tibet.
I am going to Egypt this winter vacation.
She is coming to China this winter vacation.
I am travelling around the Canda for two weeks.
What can you find
Right,they all have “be doing”.
This is the present continuous tense that we’ve learned before and it is used to denote an ongoing action.
But here,we can find that the present continuous thnse does not seem to indicate the action of the present,but the action of the future.
This grammar we can call the present continuous tense expressing the future plans.
For the structure of this grammar,
the first type is be plus displacement verb to express future.
Such as go,come,leave,travel and so on.
For example, we are living for the romantic Paris this winter vication.
I an going to Egypt this winter vication.
She is coming to China this winter vication.
And what’s the second type Let’s take a look.
We also can see the form of “be doing”
But the verb in these sentences are not displacement verb. And we can see they all have a time adverbial that indicates the future.
Yes, this is the secong type.
The sentence is in the present continuous tense,but the verb is not displacement verb. In this situation, if there is a time adverbial in the sentence that indicates the future, then the present continuous tense can also express the future.
For example, we are playing football after class.
We are finshing our homework tomorrow.
I am having a picnic with my friends next Saturday.

Please read the sentence below and judge which sentences indicate the present action, and which ones indicate the future action.
We are having a English class now.
He is leaving for Beijing next week.
I am leaving tomorrow.
I’m watching TV now.
For the first one, we can see the word “now”, so this sentence indicates the present action.
In the second sentence,we can see the phrase “next week”, so the second indicates the future action.
The third one has word “tomorrow “,so it also indicates the future action.
And in the last sentence,we can see the word “now”, so the last one indicates the present action.
Ok ,I believe you have mantained the skill to judge the function of the present continuous tense.
