Mid-Autumn Festival is related to a legend about Chang’e and Hou Yi. It is believed that Chang’e, Hou Yi’s wife, flew to the moon after taking an elixir. So she couldn’t get together with Hou Yi anymore.
According to a legend. Spring Festival was celebrated to drive away the monster Nian, who would come out to kill people on New Year’s Eve.
