Could it be Larry All eyes shot upward, and there, perched precariously on a ventilation grate, was our beloved lizard. The class gasped. Jake immediately grabbed a chair and stacked it on top of a desk to reach higher. Imani and I held the chair steady, our palms sweaty with nervousness. As Jake climbed, he whispered soothing words to Larry, trying to calm him. Inch by inch, he got closer. Finally, with a deft hand, he snatched Larry off the grate. The classroom erupted in applause.
When Larry entered the terrarium, we found the secret to its escape. A small section of the terrarium lid had come loose overnight. Larry, being the curious creature he is, must have pushed it open and wriggled out. We were mortified by our oversight. But instead of dwelling on it, we fixed the lid, double-checked all the seams, and gave Larry an extra treat. This incident made us realize that even the tiniest details matter when it comes to caring for something precious. We walked out of the classroom that day with a newfound sense of pride in our team.
