VI.教材佳句
1.[教材原句P14]These bad habits, if left unchecked, could lead to more serious ones when they became adults.　　
if left unchecked是if引導的條件狀語從句的省略結構。當時主句的主語和if從句的主語相同，且從句含有be動詞，可以將從句中的主語+be動詞省略。if可以和V-ing/過去分詞/形容詞構成省略結構。
If_necessary I can come at once.如果有必要，我可以馬上來。
[教材原句P14]The good news is that we can change, if we understand how habits work.　　
that we can change是that引導的表語從句。that引導表語從句時沒有含義，但不能省略，在從句中不作成分。
The_problem_is_that no one knows what will happen.
問題是沒有人知道會發生什么。
[教材原句P20]Whenever I went out with friends, I brought snacks from home, things that didn't have any added sugar: fruit, nuts, dried meat, etc.　　
whenever在此意為“每當”，引導時間狀語從句，是when的強調形式。
Whenever_she_comes,_she brings a friend.
她每次來都帶著個朋友。
