Unit 3 Care for the Earth 第三課時（教學設計）
教學目標
1. 能讀懂Let’s learn more部分的短文，正確理解并能靈活運用care for, on the earth, do bad things to, too many / much等短語。
2. 通過對短文的學習，培養學生的快速閱讀能力。
教學重難點
1. 通過對短文的學習，增強學生的環保意識。
教學準備
1. 準備：
（1）Let’s learn more部分的錄音。
（2）課件或小黑板準備下列句子：
There are __________ trees, flowers, rivers and __________ on the earth.
We cut down __________ __________ trees.
We waste __________ __________ water and make the air __________.
（3）一個地球儀和一張世界地圖。
（4）一些環保口號。
2. 準備：
（1）一盒彩筆。
（2）一些彩紙。

Ⅰ. 課程導入（Leading In）
ⅰ. 課前問答
我們出示所準備的世界地圖，和學生進行討論。
T: Look. This is a map of the world. We live on it. What do the blue parts stand for
Ss: Blue parts stand for oceans and seas.
T: What do green parts stand for
Ss: Green parts stand for trees and grass.
T: Well. Our earth is beautiful, isn’t it
ⅱ. 新課導入
我們展示所準備的地球儀，引導學生觀察，從而引出本節課話題：
T: Hello, boys and girls. Look at the earth. We live on the earth. It’s our home. It’s our mother earth. Where do we live Can you point it out
Ⅱ. 課程展示活動和過程的設計 （Presentation）
ⅰ. 新課展示 Part B Let’s learn more
1. 我們結合短文內容提出問題，然后播放錄音，讓學生帶著問題聽短文，了解短文大意。
Question 1: What bad things do we do to our earth
Question 2: What should we do
2. 我們再次播放錄音，播放完畢后，隨機選出幾位學生回答上面的兩個問題，檢測他們對短文的理解情況。
Answer 1: We cut down too many trees. We waste too much water and make the air dirty.
Answer 2: We should care for our earth. We should do something to make the water and the air clean. We should plant more trees and help the animals.
ⅱ. 閱讀理解
1. 讓學生讀短文的第一、二段，然后用課件或小黑板展示下列句子，讓學生根據閱讀的內容補全下列句子：
（1）There are __________ trees, flowers, rivers and __________ on the earth.
（2）We cut down __________ __________ trees.
（3）We waste __________ __________ water and make the air __________.
參考答案：（1）many, mountains （2）too many （3）too much, dirty
2. 我們讓學生勾畫出各自在閱讀課文時遇到的不熟悉的詞語，先請同學們根據語境猜猜這些詞語的意思，之后我們解疑答惑，講解短語care for, do bad things to。
（1）care for關心、愛護；如：
Alice has a white rabbit and she cares for it.
（2）do bad things to對……做壞事，損壞……；如：
We are friends. We shouldn’t do bad things to each other.
我們鼓勵學生試著用care for, do bad things to說話，或我們給出漢語讓學生說出英語：
1. 爸爸媽媽都很愛護我。
My father and mother care for me very much.
2. 我們要愛護這些小樹木。
We should care for the small trees.
3. 人們不應該做損害我們地球的事情。
People shouldn’t do bad things to our earth.
（3）讓學生以組為單位討論many, too many, much, too much的用法，最后由我們進行匯總概括。
ⅲ. 鞏固活動
1. 我們播放錄音，學生集體跟讀課文，我們注意糾正學生的發音問題。
2. 學生通讀短文，完成Read again and tick or cross部分的練習。

Ⅲ. 操練活動的設計與實施 （Practice Activities）
ⅰ. Part B Look, group, write and say
1. 我們引導學生認真觀察圖片，想一想圖中的花、草、人、船等物品應該用much和many哪個詞修飾，并進行分類。
參考答案：much: grass, water
many: trees, flowers, boys, girls, boats, ice-creams
2. 我們隨機點選學生用There is much ... 和There are many ... 造句。如：
There is much water in the lake.
There are many boats on the lake.
ⅱ. Part B Think and draw
1. 我們讓學生看著左邊的圖片，解釋設計意圖。
2. 我們請學生發揮想象，設計一幅有關環境保護的海報。
我們將學生分成若干組，給每組發一些環保語句，讓學生用彩筆將這些語句寫在彩紙上，下課后貼在教室的墻上或是校園的宣傳欄中。以下環保口號僅供參考：
1. Save water. 節約用水。
2. Turn off the lights before you leave. 離開前請關燈。
3. Low Carbon Life. 低碳生活。
4. Don’t walk on the grass. 不要踐踏草坪。
5. Don’t waste food. 不要浪費糧食。
