cry在這里意為“喊叫”，cry for help則意為“呼救”。標(biāo)題中crying aloud for help采用了擬人的修辭手法，呼應(yīng)了正文中自然奇觀正在消失的情形，表達(dá)了強(qiáng)烈的情感，引發(fā)共鳴。
cry for...還可以表示“需要……，亟需……”。
E.g.The Great Barrier Reef is crying for help.
2. Take less water, or I’ll dry up within the next 100 years.
(1) 句中的or用作并列連詞，意為“否則，要不然”的意思，后面跟的句子往往表示一種不好的結(jié)果。
