數詞的特殊表達、數詞的運算、基數詞與序數詞的轉換和數詞的基本用法都是考查的重點。從考查形式看，一般有單項選擇、完形填空、詞語運用等。從命題意圖看，側重考查考生的具體語言環境中使用數詞的能力。

一、基數詞
1. hundred, thousand, million, billion的用法
在表示精確數量時，例如前邊有具體數或many，hundred(百)，thousand(千)，million(百)，billion(十億)不用復數形式。
There are two hundred people in the hall.
大廳里有200個人。
There are hundreds of people in the hall.
大廳里有數以百計的人。
2. 基數詞表示順序、編號
基數詞表示順序編號時，由“單數名詞十基數詞”構成，此時名詞和基數詞的第一個字母通常大寫。
I am in Class One, Grade Nine. 我在九年級一班。
He lives in Room 302. 他住在302 房間。
You can take the No.3 bus.
=You can take Bus No.3.
你可以乘坐3路公交車。
3. 基數詞的特殊位置
一般來說，基數詞常用來表示精確的數量，它放在名詞的前面，當another, more等對數詞進行限定時，要注意相互之間的位置關系："another+基數詞十名詞復數"；"基數詞+more+名詞"。這兩種表達都表示在已有基礎上再增加一定的數量。
Can you have another two eggs
你能再吃兩個雞蛋嗎？
She has got five more books to read.
她還有五本書要讀。
4. “整十”的復數形式可表示幾十年代或某人幾十多歲
in the 1990s 在20世紀90年代
He began to teach when he was in his thirties.
他從30多歲開始教學。
5. 其他與基數詞有關的應用
one/an hour and a half=one and a half hours 一個半小時
基數詞前加every表示每一段時間或每隔一段時間
every ten days 每10天或每隔9天
二、序數詞
1. 序數詞的構成
基數詞的形式 變序數詞的規則 舉例
一般 在基數詞后加上-th four→ fourth
以-t結尾 在基數詞后加-h eight→ eighth
以-e結尾 去e再加-th nine→ ninth
以-ve結尾 改ve為f，再加-th five→ fifth
以-ty結尾的整十數 改y為ie，再加-th twenty→ twentieth
20 以上的兩位數 只變個位數 thirty-two→ thirty-second
特殊變化 one→ first, two→ second, three→ third
2. 序數詞的用法
(1) 序數詞表示順序時，其前需用定冠詞the，后面接單數名詞。
The second lesson is more difficult than the first one.
第二課比第一課難。
(2) 表達日期。在表達“某月某日”時，“日”要用序數詞。
on February 12th=on 12th February 在2月12日
on October lst,1949 在1949年10月1日
(3) 序數詞前也可用不定冠詞a(an)，表示“再……，又……”。
I've tried twice, but I'll try a third time.
我已試過兩次了，但我將再試一次。
(4) 表達分數。用數詞表達分數時，分子用基數詞，分母要用序數詞；如果分子大于1時，分母要用復數。
即：“分子基，分母序。分子大于1，分母加-s”。

重難延伸
①帶有分數的詞組作句子的主語時，謂語動詞的單、復數形式要與分數后名詞的數保持一致。
Two thirds of the work is hard to finish.
三分之二的工作很難完成。
Two thirds of the students in our class are League members.
我們班里三分之二的學生是團員。
②另外，"四分之一"常用a quarter表示；"四分之三"常用three quarters表示；"二分之一"常用a half表示。
