【詳解】 這是形容詞最高級的用法。 當三者或三者以上相比較,表示最高級時,用“the + 最高級”的結構表示, 這種句式一般有表示范圍的介詞短語,本句中in this hall就表示范圍。
句型結構:主語 + 謂語(be動詞) + the + 形容詞最高級 + 名詞 + 表示范圍的短語或從句.
E.g. She is the best student in her class.

2.形容詞最高級變化規則：
Language points
- 一般情況：單音節形容詞和少數雙音節形容詞在詞尾加-est。例如：tall→tallest，short→shortest。
- 以不發音e結尾：直接加-st。例如：nice→nicest，large→largest。
- 以“輔音字母+y”結尾：變y為i，再加-est。例如：happy→happiest，busy→busiest。
- 以一個輔音字母結尾的重讀閉音節：雙寫該輔音字母，再加-est。例如：big→biggest，hot→hottest。
【詳解】 這組對話用于詢問和回答某人的身高。
句型結構: How tall + be動詞 + 主語
　　 回答: 主語 + be動詞 + 數詞 + metre(s) .
E.g. — How tall is your mother
— She is 1.6 metres .
