文本分析：
本文是一篇分析食物與文化關(guān)系的事理說明文。作者是一位曾到中國游覽的美國 人。文章按照時間順序敘述了作者在中國各地品嘗美食，并與當(dāng)?shù)厝私涣鞯慕?jīng)歷， 從不同角度闡釋了食物與地域文化、歷史傳統(tǒng)、當(dāng)?shù)厝诵愿裉攸c等之間的關(guān)系。
文章的第一段通過讓 安泰爾姆 布里克 薩瓦拉 的哲理名言“Tell me what you eat
and I will tell you what you are.” 引入，闡釋了本文的主要內(nèi)容--食物與性格、文 化的關(guān)系。第二段以中國菜肴作為例證進行闡釋，講到中國菜肴在美國的本土化 現(xiàn)象，以此說明美國人的某些性格特點。在接下來的第三段至第六段，作者結(jié)合 自己在中國各地品嘗美食的經(jīng)歷，繼續(xù)和闡釋了中國各地的典型菜肴及其所反映 的歷史傳統(tǒng)、文化內(nèi)涵，以及當(dāng)?shù)厝说男愿裉攸c等。其中第三段敘述了作者初到 中國，在北京品嘗四川美食的經(jīng)歷，作者感受到中國人的熱情好客，并了解到四 川菜肴的特色食材--胡椒(Sichuan peppercorns)。第四段通過作者在山東的經(jīng)歷闡 釋了餃子(dumplings）這一北方傳統(tǒng)食物的文化內(nèi)涵，并提到山東最具特色的食 物“大蔥卷餅 ”(pancake rolls stuffed with sliced Chinese green onions) 。第五段講 作者到新疆之后，結(jié)識了當(dāng)?shù)氐墓_克族和內(nèi)蒙古的朋友，了解到他們的傳統(tǒng)食 物通常是在明火上烹飪的煮肉或烤肉(如：羊肉串 lamb kebab) ，這是因為他們的 祖輩是草原上的游牧民族。第六段講作者在華南和華中地區(qū)品嘗到當(dāng)?shù)氐奶厣?物--廣東點心(dim sum)和河南燴面(stewed noodles) ，作者驚嘆于菜肴的精美考究 和別具一格，同時也體驗到中國各地“食物別樣人不同 ”，感受到中國人的友好 與善良。在上述例證和闡釋的基礎(chǔ)上，最后一段進一步分析和概括食物與文化的 關(guān)系，例如，各地食物本身就蘊含著食物生長的地域信息、人們的生活特征和愛 惡喜好。雖然很難說人們的性格與食物是否有著直接、必然的聯(lián)系，但是食物與 文化確實密不可分、相互影響。

學(xué)情分析
本課面向廣州市全體高中學(xué)生中的中等水平的學(xué)生。經(jīng)過第一個課時的學(xué)習(xí)， 學(xué)生已經(jīng)通過閱讀 Opening page 了解了本單元的主題。對于文本的主要內(nèi)容和
結(jié)構(gòu)也進行了梳理。在答疑課中也對一些細(xì)節(jié)性的信息和重點詞匯進行了學(xué)習(xí)， 為本節(jié)課的細(xì)節(jié)閱讀打好了基礎(chǔ)。
教學(xué)目標(biāo)：
在本課學(xué)習(xí)結(jié)束時，學(xué)生能夠：
1. 閱讀有關(guān)飲食與文化的事理說明文，能夠按照時間和地域線索梳理文本，理 解和把握食物與地域文化、歷史傳統(tǒng)、當(dāng)?shù)厝诵愿裉攸c等之間的關(guān)系。
2. 能夠理解語篇上下文的因果關(guān)系，發(fā)展邏輯思維能力。
3. 能夠結(jié)合語境準(zhǔn)確理解本單元習(xí)語的意義和文化內(nèi)涵，從而有效積累詞匯、 提升理解能力和語言表達(dá)的地道性。
教學(xué)重點：
1. 引導(dǎo)學(xué)生梳理文章細(xì)節(jié)信息和上下文因果關(guān)系，理清文章架構(gòu)。
2. 引導(dǎo)學(xué)生結(jié)合語境準(zhǔn)確理解本單元習(xí)語的意義和文化內(nèi)涵。

Step Activities Purpose

Homework checking Check the homework and go over the structure of the text again. Help the students to review and prepare them for detailed reading.
Reading for the details Ask the students to read each paragraph and use the information from the text to complete the table in Activity 3 on P27 Have the students to read to get some detailed information
Reading for the cause and effect 1. Tell students that usually to identify causes and effect, they should look for signal words or logical connection. 2. Ask the students to match the causes to the effect below. Then ask them to find more examples from the text. 3. Introduce more linking words and phrases of cause and effect. Students consolidate their knowledge by answering some questions Help the students understand the cause and effect used in a text.
Reading for the Ask the students to read the passage Help students to gain a
development of the text again and find out how it is developed more comprehensive understanding of the text structure on the basis of the detailed information.
Reading for cultural awareness 1. Ask the students to think about the relationship between cuisine and culture. 2.
