In 2016, I came to China to pursue my studies at Shandong University in Jinan. I’m impressed by the Chinese culture and landscapes. My first impression of China was a mix of slight fear and amazement as I arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport on August 28th, 2016. The air smelled of street food, and the LED lights on buildings told me that I was in another world. My first few months were a bit challenging because of the language barrier, but thanks to the friendly and helpful locals, I gradually adapted to my new life. When I decided to settle down in Shandong Province, I realized that besides learning Chinese, I should also explore the cultural heritage of China. I have been to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Urumqi, Suzhou and everywhere in Shandong. After completing my studies, I landed a job as a teacher. Working in China has allowed me to experience the culture more deeply. In conclusion, China has become my second home. I hope my experiences will inspire others to explore Chinese culture.
