Why did he feel so awake tonight It was a clear night with the fullest moon. To him, the moon seemed always large and bright before the daybreak of Mid-Autumn Festival.
He was fifteen years old and working on his father’s farm. He loved his father. He had not known it until one day before Mid-Autumn Festival, when he had overheard (偶然聽到) what his father was saying to his mother.
“Axiang, I hate to call Niuniu in the mornings. He’s growing fast and needs sleep. I wish I could manage alone.”

Last summer, I joined the SSP Panda Volunteer Camp and travelled to Chengdu, Sichuan. We set off on August 7. Early in the morning, my teammates and I arrived at Wolong National Panda Nature Reserve It’s the biggest panda reserve in China. The worker there told us many interesting facts about the animals.
Pandas are lovely, but they are very lazy. Every day, they spend about ten hours sleeping and twelve hours eating. Yes, they only spend two hours doing exercise!
Pandas like to eat carrots and bamboo. They eat as much as they can. No wonder they are very fat!
We helped the workers at the reserve feed the pandas and clean the yard where the animals lived and played. My job was to pick up the leftover bamboo and replace it with fresh bamboo. The temperature at the reserve was high. It took me about half an hour to finish my tasks. It was truly tiring and I sweated (出汗) a lot.
We also visited the panda exhibition room. We learned about different kinds of bamboo. We found out pandas’ favorites as well as why baby pandas die so easily.
Having spent 5 days at the reserve, I truly experienced and learned so much. Finally, our volunteer tour came to an end on August 11. After the trip, I was also lost in thought. Pandas are in great danger. I hope everyone will be aware of their situation. All of us should know that it’s our responsibility to protect the environment and make an effort to prevent pandas from extinction. If we do nothing, we won’t have any of them and our world will be bleak.

City walk is a popular activity that allows people to explore and experience the energy of a city on foot. It is a great way to discover local places that you might miss when traveling by car or public transportation.
City walk is a chance to make yourself enjoy the sights, sounds, and culture of a place. During a city walk, you may happen to find charming stores, colorful street art, and unique cafes in narrow alleyways (小巷). Whether you are a local or a visitor, city walk provides a chance to truly understand a city.

根據第二段“During the tour, people are able to find all kinds of looking-glass mangroves.”
根據第三段“His father told the reporter about his son’s interest in exploring natural spaces.”
根據第四段“Chen added that the experience could help children be more aware of the importance of respecting nature and protecting the environment.”以及“The event provided a chance for children to understand nature, with teachers using simple language during this wetland tour.”
根據第五段“We organise these events two to four times each month, hoping to help children get enjoyment from these activities, and in turn, enhance their environmental awareness”可知,組織活動希望孩子們從活動中獲得樂趣,進而對環保意識有所影響。

文中提到 “It was rather strange how his youth habit stuck to him still! His father had been dead for thirty years, yet he still woke at four in the morning.”,表明他四點突然醒來是因為年輕時養成的習慣,雖然父親已去世三十年,但這個習慣依舊保留,故選B。
根據“‘Axiang, I hate to call Niuniu…But I really hate to wake him.’”以及“He had not known it until one day before Mid - Autumn Festival, when he had overheard what his father was saying to his mother.” 故選A。
根據最后一段“He had never milked all alone before, but it seemed almost easy.”
根據“Milking for once was not a chore (苦差事). It was something else, a gift to his father who loved him.”

根據“his family warned him”可知,考查warn sb to do sth“警告某人做某事”,因此填不定式。故填to stay。
故填him。
根據“The tiger roared (咆哮) around the tree”以及“even jumped up to reach the man.” 故填and。
故填a。
根據“Look…the young man”可知,這里考查的是固定短語“look at sb”,表示“看某人”。故填at。

Dear Jack,
I am really excited to know that you will stay in Jieyang for a few days in the coming year. I am writing to provide you with some suggestions on a city walk in Jieyang.
Jieyang is a wonderful place with a long history and rich traditional culture. To make your city walk in Jieyang meaningful, first of all, you can go to Jin Xian Gate, where you can watch the dragon and lion dances as well as the Yingge dances. Remember to go through the gate because it’s said that whoever goes through the gate will become smart. What’s more, you can also go to the Jieyang Old Town, which is very popular with people. Special Jieyang food like rice noodle rolls is served here and at the same time, you are able to learn more about the history in Jieyang. The third place I’d like to suggest is Huangqi Mountain. It’s amazing to get a whole view of Jieyang from the top of the mountain.
In conclusion, Jieyang is a small old city that you can not only have a relaxing way to learn about the city’s local culture but also enjoy all kinds of delicious snacks. I believe that you can have a wonderful city walk and enjoy yourself here. Looking forward to seeing you in the coming year.
Yours,
Li Hua
