Syllables

English words can be divided into syllables. All words have one or more syllables.

Syllables
A syllable usually has a vowel sound. However, the consonant sounds in bold in the following words are separate syllables too.
音節
音節：有的單詞只包括一個音節，有的單詞包含兩個、三個或更多的音節，分別稱為單音節詞、雙音節詞和多音節詞。單音節詞一般都是重讀的。雙音節詞一般只有一個音節是重讀的。多音節詞除了重讀音節外，有時還有一個次重讀音節。
音節的核心是元音。少數輔音字母，如l、m、n也可以構成非重讀音節。一個音節里可以只有一個元音字母而沒有其他字母，如i、a。元音字母的前面或后面可以有一個或兩個輔音字母，如we, she, at, ask, box, them, desk, middle, letter等。
