Hansel and Gretel lived near a forest with their father and stepmother. One year, the weather was so dry that no food would grow. The wife told her husband that unless he left the children to die in the forest, the whole family would die. Gretel heard this, and Hansel made a plan to save himself and his sister.

1．what 引導的感嘆句
what 引導的感嘆句其結構為What＋a(an)＋形容詞＋單數可數名詞＋主語＋謂語。

注意：what 引導的感嘆句與how引導的感嘆句有時可以轉換，轉換后意義不變。

2．as soon as
as soon as意為“一……就……；盡快”，引導時間狀語從句。

考點 wife的用法
作名詞，意為“妻子”。以f或fe結尾的名詞變為復數時，要把f或fe變成字母v再加 es，故其復數形式為wives。類似變形的詞還有：half→halves，life→lives等。
考點 辨析all與whole
all 可以修飾各類名詞，限定詞要放在all之后，即“all＋限定詞＋名詞”。
whole 常修飾具有整體意義的單數名詞，且限定詞要放在whole之前，即“限定詞＋whole＋名詞”。
如：All my classmates want to visit the Palace Museum.我所有的同學都想去參觀故宮。

考點 bright的用法
作副詞，意為“光亮地；明亮地”。
