作從屬連詞, 引導讓步狀語從句。 當讓步狀語從句位于主句前時，其后通常加逗號與主句隔開。
e.g. Even though she is 86, she can still take care of herself.
She can still take care of herself even though she is 86.
【注意】
even though和but不能同時出現在同一個句子中，但二者連接的句子可以互相轉換。
e.g. Even though the book was expensive, I still bought it.
= The book was expensive but I still bought it.
【語境應用】完成句子。

3. It’s been around for as long as I can remember.
自從我記事起它就一直在那兒了。
as long as也可引導條件狀語從句，意為“只要”，相當于so long as。
e.g. As / So long as you are happy, it doesn’t matter what job you do.
as long as 長達……；和……一樣長
e.g. You can stay here as long as you want.
This desk is as long as that one.
【語境應用】翻譯句子。
1)只要你打電話，我就會來看你。
2)這兩個人在山里植樹長達15年之久。
3)這根繩子(rope)和那根一樣長。
