1.The people in the large picture are in Shanghai. We can see the Oriental Pearl TV Tower (東方明珠廣播電視塔) by the side of the Huangpu River. The smaller picture is Toronto /t 'r nt u/, as can be seen by the large sign (標志) saying "TORONTO".
2.Some people are rowing (劃船) and many are standing next to the river.
Because the earth rotates (旋轉) around the sun, when the sun shines on one side (daytime), it is dark on the other side (nighttime).
Shanghai is in the UTC+8 time zone(時區), which means it is 8 hours ahead of UTC. Toronto is in the UTC-5 time zone, which means it is 5 hours behind UTC.
Shanghai is 13 hours ahead of Toronto. If it's 10:00 AM in Shanghai (UTC+8), then in Toronto (UTC-5), it would be 9:00 PM on the previous day.
UTC (Coordinated Universal Time，協調世界時) 是全球時間標準，用于協調和統一世界各地的時間。
We can see in this photo that it is daytime 白天in Shanghai, while it is nighttime黑夜in Toronto.

已知西五區的紐約為上午9點，林林所在的東八區的北京是幾點呢？
根據“東加西減”原則。向東數越過了13個時區，加13小時，上午9點 + 13小時 = 晚上10點。

現在分詞V-ing的變化：
1.一般在動詞后直接加-ing. 如: reading, playing
2.以不發音的e結尾的詞去掉e再加-ing. 如: riding
3.以重讀閉音節結尾且末尾只有一個輔音字母的動詞，, 雙寫輔音字母, 再加-ing.如:shopping
重讀閉音節三要素：
1. 必須是重讀音節；
2. 最后只有一個輔音字母；
3. 元音字母發短元音
什么是重讀閉音節？
4.以ie結尾的詞變ie為y，再加-ing. 如: lie躺--lying tie系--tying
