You may find, either from your personal experiences (經(jīng)歷) or from photos, that the seats (座
位) on planes are usually blue.In fact, airlines (航空公司) have a long history of changing colors in
and out of their planes to make things friendlier for passengers (乘客). 32 It’s the color blue.
There are some good reasons for that.
First, blue seats are the easiest to keep clean-or at least to look clean. 33 They may
leave stains and scratches (污漬和劃痕) on the seats. The blue color makes them less clear, so the
seats can look fresh and clean for a longer time.
Another reason is that blue is a calming color. 34 Blue is also on the cool end of the
color wheel and can make you feel cooler. That means you don’t feel hot when you are on a plane.
35 Few people hate the color blue. Blue usually makes people think of good
things, such as clean water and blue skies. Across ages and across cultures, it’s the world’s favorite
color.
36 You’ll see seats in other colors on planes. Virgin Atlantic, for example, has red
seats. But blue will probably still be the main color in the skies for time to time.

An unforgettable event
As we all know, everyone has his or her unforgettable events. I still remember the first
time I made a milk shake for my mother.
Since my mother really likes drinking milk shakes, I wanted to make one for her by
myself as a gift. At first, I didn’t know how to do it, so I looked up ways online. It seemed easy
to make but actually not. I found it difficult for me to use the knife. While I was using it, I
almost hurt myself. But as soon as I thought of the joy on my mother’s face, I was full of
courage. And then I followed the instructions step by step. Finally I made it.
After that I not only got a strong feeling of satisfaction but also realized that I should
take care of my family instead of just enjoying the love from them.
