21.句意:一個禮貌的話語和一個友好的微笑能讓每個人的生活更愉快。
can能夠;must必須;should應該;shall將要。根據下文“Being polite can also help us…”可知,有禮貌也能幫助我們……,所以此處是指禮貌話語和友好的微笑能夠創造更愉快的生活,應用“can”。選A。

Many students have fun with their school life. But many Japanese students are unhappy. They have lots of pressure from their family. Most of Japanese students must study hard at school for their parents and for future. So it’s tired and boring for some students.
Japanese students always try their best in school, but sometimes they may fail exams and make their parents lose hope for them. The students may have bigger pressure from both family and the school. So they finally don’t get interested in their schoolwork. In this way, more pressure and problems are waiting for them. That’s really a terrible thing.
According to a report, most Japanese parents would like to send their children to different schools on weekends, but it only helps kids to get good grades. They never mind the students’ healthy development. For example, many school students said they don’t know how to get on well with and how to take care of others. That’s bad for kids’ whole development.

Seeing blood in a scary movie might make you cover your eyes, but real blood isn’t scary at all. 51 That’s why blood donors (捐贈者) are considered lifesavers.
Blood donors are those giving blood — usually about 200 ml at a time — to blood banks or blood donation (捐贈) centers, 52 For example, someone may have lost blood in accidents, or have a serious illness that requires his blood to be replaced. Hospitals and blood banks store the blood and try to keep enough on hand.
53 First, medical (醫學的) workers usually ask donors several questions to make sure the blood is safe to use. Then the donors relax, often read a magazine or talk as their blood is drawn (抽出). After that, the donors may receive juice or water and maybe fruit to give them energy. 54 But they must keep healthy during this time. To give blood, a person also must be at least 18 years old and must meet certain other requirements (要求).
Students of all ages, though, can learn more about the donation process by visiting a blood donation center in the neighborhood. 55 It is also an easy way to help a community.
A.then the blood can be used for people in need.
B.Few people feel uncomfortable after it.
C.Donating blood is bad for our health.
D.In fact, blood is the gift of life and keeps us alive.

After that, the donors may receive juice or water and maybe fruit to give them energy. 54 But they must keep healthy during this time. To give blood, a person also must be at least 18 years old and must meet certain other requirements (要求).
