【知識探究】
It is a 99-meter-high waterfall in North America.它是位于北美的一個99米高的瀑布。
用法總結　99-meter-high是一個復合形容詞,用來修飾waterfall,其中連字符連接了數詞“99”、名詞meter和形容詞high,表示“99 米高的”。
注意:在復合形容詞中metre要用單數形式。
素養訓練　 根據漢語意思完成句子。

用法總結　run意為“跑”,在這里引申為“流淌;延伸”。run through的意思是“貫穿;穿過”,表明從某個地方的一端延伸到另一端。
素養訓練　 在空白處填入一個合適的單詞,使句意完整。

It is one of the four oceans on the earth.它是地球上的四大洋之一。
用法總結　one of...表示“……之一”,后面跟可數名詞的復數形式。the four oceans指的是“四大洋”。例如:
One of my friends is a doctor.我的一個朋友是醫生。
