As her alarm clock gently woke her up at 6:30 a.m., the curtains in her room automatically opened, letting in the soft morning light. The thermostat (恒溫器) had already adjusted the temperature to a comfortable level, and her favorite play list started playing through the smart speaker. While Sarah got ready for school, her smart fridge sent a message to her phone, reminding her that she was running low on milk and eggs. After breakfast, Sarah grabbed her backpack and headed to the garage. Her family’s car, equipped with IoT technology, had already warmed up and calculated the fastest route to school, avoiding traffic jams. On her way, Sarah used her smart watch to check her schedule for the day and review her fitness statistics (數(shù)據(jù)) from her morning jog.At school, Sarah’s teacher used a smart whiteboard to show interactive lessons, and students used iPads to complete assignments. During lunch, Sarah’s friend showed her a new app that connected to a smart water bottle, reminding users to stay hydrated throughout the day. When Sarah returned home, the smart security system recognized her face and unlocked the door. Inside, the lights turned on automatically, and the air purifier had already cleaned the air while she was away. Sarah spent the evening doing homework on her laptop, which was connected to the home’s Wi-Fi network, and later relaxed by watching a movie on the smart TV.However, Sarah sometimes wondered about the disadvantages of living in a smart home. She worried about who might have access to the data collected by these devices and whether her personal information was safe. Despite these concerns, she couldn’t refuse to accept the convenience and efficiency that IoT brought to her life.24. What can be inferred about Sarah’s morning routine based on the first two paragraphs A. She adjusts her home’s temperature every morning by hand.B. Her IoT devices work together to create an efficient routine.C. She dislikes using technology to manage daily tasks.D. Her smart fridge prevents her from eating breakfast.25. The word “hydrated” in the third paragraph is closest in meaning to _________.A. awake B. relaxed C. refreshed D. comfortable26. What concern does Sarah have about IoT A. It is too expensive to maintain. B. It is difficult to set up.C. It is not reliable enough. D. It might invade her privacy.27. What is the author’s attitude toward IoT in the passage A. Objective. B. Opposed. C. Supportive. D. Indifferent.CA marine scientist was swimming near a colorful coral reef, hoping to photograph a rare kind of seahorse. After hours of searching with no luck, she was about to give up when suddenly, a bright seahorse appeared right in front of her. Excited, she quickly took the picture. Later, when she checked the photo, she made an amazing discovery — just behind the seahorse, hidden in the coral, was an even rarer small octopus! She hadn’t noticed it during her dive, but her camera had accidentally captured one of the ocean’s hardest-to-find creatures. It was a moment of pure luck.Such happy accidents also happen in science. In the 1920s, a scientist named Alexander Fleming was studying bacteria when he forgot to cover one of his experiment dishes. When he returned, he saw that mold (霉) had grown on it — but instead of throwing it away, he noticed the bacteria near the mold had died. This lucky mistake led to the discovery of penicillin, the first antibiotic (抗生素) medicine. Fleming wasn’t trying to find a cure, but his accident changed medical history forever.Even in daily life, luck can bring great things. My friend Tom, who loves music, was having trouble writing song lyrics. One day, while sitting in a park, he heard two strangers telling an interesting story. Their words gave him the perfect idea for his song—and that song later became his first big success! These stories show that while hard work is important, sometimes the best things happen when we aren’t even looking for them. Life’s most wonderful surprises often come when we least expect them.28. What is the main idea of the passage A. The importance of careful observation in marine biology.B. Unexpected discoveries can lead to significant breakthroughs.C. The process of developing new medicines in the 1920s.D. How to become a successful musician through luck.29. What happened when Alexander Fleming left his experiment dish uncovered A. The bacteria grew faster than expected.B. The mold killed the surrounding bacteria.C. The dish became polluted and was thrown away.D. He had to restart his experiment from the beginning.30. What can be inferred from the passage about accidental discoveries A. Tom deliberately listened to strangers to get song ideas.B. Fleming was initially worried about the mold growing there.C. The importance of these findings immediately became apparent.D. Important discoveries often happen during unexpected moments.31. Which of the following sayings can best summarize what the author thinks about A. Wisdom comes from careful consideration.B. Success belongs to those who plan carefully. C. Luck often favors those who are open to surprises.D. No joyful moment lasts forever.DMental Workouts May Arouse Snack Cravings: How Exercise Can HelpA recent study reveals that intense mental tasks, like studying for tests, can unexpectedly increase food cravings (渴望). Scientists explain that when we concentrate hard, our brains burn through energy reserves quickly. Since the brain can’t store much fuel, it signals the body to seek calories - even when we haven’t moved much physically. This may explain why many students find themselves reaching for snacks during long study sessions.Researchers from Harvard University and Boston College designed an experiment to test whether short exercise breaks could reduce these study-induced cravings. Dr. Sarah Miller, lead researcher, explains that physical activity boosts circulation, sending more blood sugar and oxygen to the brain. “When the brain gets this energy boost through exercise, it may stop sending urgent hunger signals,” she says. The study involved 40 university students who first completed challenging math problems for 30 minutes. Afterwards, half the participants rested while the other half did 15 minutes of mixed exercises (jumping jacks, squats, and light jogging). When offered snacks later, the exercise group ate 25% less than the resting group and reported feeling more satisfied. However, the research had some limitations. It only measured immediate food intake after one study session, and didn’t track whether participants compensated (補償) by eating more later. Also, all exercises were moderate-intensity (中等強度); the team isn’t sure if easier activities like stretching would have the same effect.“While more research is needed,” Dr. Miller notes, “our findings suggest that short activity breaks could help students avoid unnecessary snacking during cram sessions (臨時抱佛腳).” The team plans to investigate whether outdoor exercise provides additional benefits compared to indoor workouts.32. What is the primary cause of increased food cravings during intense studying A. The brain consumes energy rapidly during focus.B. The body mistakes mental work for physical labor.C. Blood sugar drops sharply during concentration.D. Students snack more when feeling stressed.33. How does exercise help reduce study-induced cravings A. It improves blood flow to the brain. B. It reduces stress levels significantly.C. It delays hunger temporarily. D. It replaces the need for calorie intake.34. What does the passage mainly tell us A. All brain work leads to weight gain.B. Stress causes food cravings during tests.C. Mental effort increases hunger but exercise may help.D. Students should exercise instead of eating snacks.35. What future research direction is suggested A. Testing if stretching reduces cravings. B. Comparing snack types during studying.C. Tracking students’ sleep patterns. D. Studying outdoor vs indoor exercise.第二節(jié)(共5小題;每小題2.5分,滿分12.5分)閱讀下面短文,從短文后的選項中選出可以填入空白處的最佳選項。選項中有兩項為多余選項。How Being an Athlete Helps Me Run My BusinessPeople often ask me how I grew my business so quickly. The answer is that my background as a triathlete (鐵人三項運動員) has been one of my biggest advantages. As legendary college football Paul “Bear” Bryant said, “It’s not the will to win that matters. 36 ”There were lots of days during my triathlon training when I didn’t necessarily feel like going for a long run or an 80-mile bike ride. 37 In my business, I also showed up daily to do the work, whether that was writing articles, creating content, or building an audience. I made sure that even if I only had 20 minutes to spend on the business each day, I was doing it.38 When I was a sportsman, I always found myself stuck at some point. As a businessman, I constantly feel the same way. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on courses, certifications and books. I see it as similar to hiring the best trainer, equipment or coach to get me to the next level and to improve my game. The final key is to look at failure as a helpful part of the process. There are going to be tons of missed shots, slow races, and injuries. Athletes understand that all of those are necessary to create wins. 39 You need to be able to learn from setbacks so that you can approach the next opportunity with even greater confidence. All you need to do is reflect and learn from your missteps. 40A. The same is true in business.B. Where there is a will, there is a way.C. It’s the will to prepare to win that matters.D. It’s also vital to learn from the best in your field.E. They will ultimately help you get closer to your goals.F. You also need to push yourself beyond your current boundaries.G. But I knew that I did want the results that the training would provide. During a community art exhibition, Emily Zhang discovered that art has the power to inspire and bring people together. Ever since I was six years old and first touched those black and white keys, the piano became my voice when words failed me. My parents said I would spend hours at our old upright piano, making up little tunes before I even learned to read notes properly. That’s when Mr. Wilson entered my life as my piano teacher. He was different from other teachers while others focused only on technique, Mr. Wilson always said, “Your playing may not be perfect, but it’s full of feeling.”Last year, our city hosted its annual Youth Piano Competition. When Mr. Wilson suggested I participate, my hands turned cold with fear. “I’m not ready,” I protested (反對). But he smiled and said, “Music isn’t about being the best, but it’s about sharing your heart.” For three months, I practiced John Denver’s “Country Road” every day after school. Mr. Wilson helped me arrange a special piano version that started softly like a whisper and built to an emotional climax. The day of the semifinals arrived. Backstage, I could hear the previous contestant playing flawlessly (完美無瑕地). When my name was called, my legs felt like jelly. The first few measures went well, but then at the most difficult transition, my mind went completely blank. My fingers kept moving automatically, but the wrong notes rang out like alarm bells. I managed to finish the piece, but the disappointed look on the judges’ faces said it all.For weeks after the competition, I avoided the piano altogether. Then one rainy afternoon, I heard music floating up from downstairs. It was Mr. Wilson at our piano, playing my mistake-filled competition performance, note for wrong note. And yet... there was something strangely beautiful about it. The way he played those “wrong” notes with such certainty made them sound intentional, like they belonged there all along.注意:(1)續(xù)寫詞數(shù)應(yīng)為150個左右;(2)請按如下格式在答題紙的相應(yīng)位置作答。Paragraph 1:I listened quietly as Mr. Wilson played my failed performance. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Paragraph 2:A year later, the competition poster caught my eye. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________英語參考答案:第一部分 聽力1-5 ACCAC 6-10 ABBAC 11-15 ACABB 16-20 BBACC第二部分 閱讀21-23 BBC 24-27 BCDA 28-31 DBDC 32-35 AACD36-40 CGFAE第三部分 語言運用第一節(jié) 完形填空:41-45 ABDDA 46-50 BCCDB 51-55 BDCAA第二節(jié) 語法填空:56. to 57. have celebrated / have been celebrating 58. Looking forward to your reply. (100 words)Sincerely yours,Li Hua第二節(jié) 【參考答案】Paragraph 1 (90 words):I listened quietly as Mr. Wilson played my failed performance. Tears filled my eyes as Mr. Wilson played my failed performance, making every wrong note sound beautiful. “These aren’t mistakes,” he said gently, “they’re your heart speaking.” I shivered as the music surrounded me -- the nervous parts now sounded honest, the rushed parts full of strength. Where I’d only heard failure before, he showed me the true feelings I’d put into the music without realizing. My breathing became uneven as I finally understood: being real was more important than being perfect. Tears fell onto the piano keys, shining in the light as they celebrated the surprising beauty of my imperfect but brave performance.Paragraph 2 (77 words)A year later, the competition poster caught my eye. “Will you try again ” Mr. Wilson asked. I smiled and nodded. This time, I played without fear. As the final notes faded, the audience erupted in applause — not the polite kind, but the warm. An elderly woman even wiped her eyes. Mr. Wilson patted me on the shoulder contently. It was then that I realized touching someone’s heart was worth more than any first prize. Good music isn’t about perfect notes, but about sharing true feelings.聽力錄音稿:Text 1M: Hi, Linda. Did you buy anything in the town yesterday W: Yes. Look at my beautiful green sweater.
