Would you completely trust an AI tool that gives shopping or travel advice You shouldn’t, because its answers may hide ads.
For example, some people use DeepSeek-R1 to create travel guides. At first, the guides seem great, but later they find that group tours from small travel agencies (機構) are strongly recommended. The websites given are sometimes shopping sites for the elderly. Also, when asking about air conditioners, DeepSeek-R1might suggest booking through a website that has been criticized (批評) for years.
Interestingly, young people might not trust these websites if they saw them directly. But if AI recommends them, they feel more believable. Why Many people think AI may make mistakes but would not lie. They believe AI gives answers without business purposes. However, DeepSeek-R1 is trained on internet data (數(shù)據(jù)), which includes hidden ads. Its smart-looking answers often come from small, unknown websites.
People usually judge if information is true based on experience. But AI has no real personal experience. It has never joined a group tour or argued with a tour guide. To AI, everything online is just lines of code (編碼). That’s why its travel advice might sound good but not really help.
In today’s internet world, we should think carefully about information from unknown sources (來源). Just like you would not easily trust a stranger, you should not blindly trust an AI either.
4. Where do some group tours recommended by DeepSeek-R1 come from
A. Small agencies. B. Big websites. C. Famous hotels.
5. Why do many people trust the websites that AI recommends according to Paragraph 3
A. AI is smart. B. AI doesn’t lie. C. AI doesn’t make mistakes.
6. What can we know about DeepSeek-R1 from the last two paragraphs
A. It has real experience. B. It just uses internet data. C. It chooses the best advice.
7. What is the main idea of this passage
A. Make good use of AI tool. B. Be careful about AI travel tips. C. Think twice before trusting AI.
C
They came in need of help, smartphones in hand. One couldn’t answer calls. Another had mailbox problems. Many wanted to make the text on their smartphones larger but didn’t know how. Luckily, there is a group—Girl Scouts Troop (女童子軍).
The scouts in Virginia, US held “Techbridge”, their first service initiative to help local seniors learn how to use their smartphones.
“Some had their own questions about smartphones, and a lot of people came and just wanted to learn,” Maura Sammis, a scout who helped some seniors with Apple Pay, said. “I set up ‘Techbridge’ for an old couple and they were really excited about that.” Her partner Sarah Middleton said, “I was teaching this elderly woman how to text people, and the first thing that she did was text her daughter. And I thought that was really sweet, and it just made me feel really happy.”
The eighth-graders came up with the idea of the activity. When it was time to think about a project for the Girl Scout Silver Award, helping local seniors learn how to use their smartphones was a good choice. “It has to be something that helps your community,” Cadette Tara Udani explained. “And for us, that was teaching the elderly in our community how to use their smartphones better.”
According to research, 83% of Americans aged 50 to 64 own smartphones. Among them is Sammis’ grandmother, whom she helped use a smartphone. That experience turned out to be great for preparing for the activity. “To help them understand all the information, we speak very slowly,” Sammis said.
8. How does the writer introduce the topic in Paragraph 1
A By telling a story. B. By listing reasons. C. By giving examples.
9. What does the underlined word “initiative” in Paragraph 2 probably refer to (指的是)
A. A new project. B. A big competition. C. A kind of smartphone.
10. Why did Sarah Middleton mention the elderly woman she helped
A. To explain the usefulness of smartphones.
B. To show the true meaning of “Techbridge”.
C. To express the woman’s love to her daughter.
11. What’s the writer’s attitude (態(tài)度) to “Techbridge”
A. Supportive. B. Doubtful. C. Uncertain.

第四部分 讀寫綜合(共兩節(jié),滿分25分)
第一節(jié)
閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答問題。
September 1st is the perfect day to pick up a pen and paper and write a letter to someone because it’s World Letter Writing Day. The holiday is created to keep the art of letter writing alive in the digital (數(shù)字) age.
For a long time, letter writing was the primary means (方法) of long-distance (長距離) communication. However, the appearance of modern means of communication has made letter writing a less popular activity. Few people would like to take the time to sit down and write a letter.
Even though the new technologies have provided us with much faster ways to communicate, letter writing is still important for a number of reasons. Writing a letter to someone shows that you really care about them, because you took the time and effort to do something people seldom do these days. Handwriting is also an important skill you shouldn’t lose, because writing by hand trains your brain in a different way than typing (打字) and improves your language processing and reading skills.
Another reason is that writing a letter forces you to really think about what you are writing. Far too often, we hurriedly send texts and emails without really thinking about the influence our words have on the receiver. With a handwritten letter, you are forced to be more careful with the words you choose.
So, how do we celebrate this day The best way is to write a letter to someone. It could be a friend or relative who lives miles away, or someone you have lost touch with over time. Of course, you can also learn the correct method of writing a handwritten letter, or just read some famous letters. Whatever you do, please know that letter writing is still worthwhile (值得的).
