Before my birthday every year, I would pray but it never came. By my sixteenth birthday, I had lost all hope of getting my snow, even though I still wished for it. During my party, I had the best time ever! I enjoyed the company of my friends and family, and I was truly happy.
I was outside with a friend when she asked me if I was having a good time. I told her I was enjoying my life to the fullest. Then I saw the white snow falling all around. I became like a little child on Christmas morning as I ran around screaming and laughing. I was so excited that my friend looked at me as if I were crazy, and laughed at me. She asked me if I had ever seen snow before, and I laughed and said that I had, but that this snow was very special to me.

Finally, the day arrived. Sara's team had made it to the final match, and she had been given a chance to play. The crowd roared with excitement as she took her position on the field. Everyone cheered her on, their voices a mix of encouragement and admiration. Although Sara couldn't run like the others, she used her skills and wisdom to pass the ball, her crutches becoming her secret weapon (武器) on the field.

"It's not the shortest way", I answered.
"I don't mind," she said. "I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to a hospice（臨終安養(yǎng)院）. " I saw her eyes shining with tears.
"I don't have any family left, she continued. "The doctor says I should go there. He says I don't have very long. "

As you might have guessed, the clouds did mean rain. Lots of rain. So we had to stay indoors, calling off the whole plan including snowshoeing, watching winter wildlife and other outdoor activities. "I guess we'll have to find something else to do," said Lisa.
We found a couple of board games(桌游) and a pack of cards and sat down. At first, it was fun, but we ended up playing those games for about 100 hours, stop ping only to eat and sleep!
"I can't play anymore," I said on the third day. "How about we just read by ourselves for a while "
"I have a better idea," said Lisa. "How about singing instead "
"I think a little quiet time would be nice," I said, opening a book I had brought.
"Oh, come on! Don't be boring. I'll pick the first song." Lisa started singing "Somewhere over the Rainbow."

Bored by the silence, Ryan soon gave up and walked down to the park. It was a short-cut to home and by now his fingers were aching with the cold. The park pond was frozen over and Ryan laughed at a couple of ducks, waddling(搖擺著走) on the ice. They were finding it hard to keep balance. Quickly, Ryan picked up a stick and without thinking made his way onto the ice. In his mind's eye, he could see the feathers flying as he hit one of the ducks.
Ryan was a few yards out when the ice cracked. It sounded like gun shot across the frozen park. The ice broke into pieces before his eyes. Screaming, he fell straight down into the icy water. The ducks flew off.

Jeremy watched as the group neared the river. They trumpeted loudly and flapped their large ears to cool themselves down. Then several larger elephants jumped in the water up to their ears. Jeremy hoped it could breathe through its trunk, because its mouth was underwater.

James was so touched by her little boy's genuine care for his friend and she knew how it would matter to the poor kid, Melvin.
That evening, they went to a sneaker store and bought a pair of black-and-white Nike shoes for Melvin. Mello used savings from his pocket money to pay for the $85 shoes. This way, Mello thought, "nobody could laugh at him or say anything about him anymore." Mello was so excited to give Melvin the gift that he woke up nearly an hour early for school.

I reached the bank of the stream, and I could see it a little way off on the other side. I crossed the stream on a fallen tree, and still ran on, though my muscles were aching and my knees shaking.
Suddenly I met in my way a large porcupine (豪豬). I ran away from him as fast as my tired feet would carry me. In my flight and hurry I forgot to keep my eye on the rainbow, and when, at last, I remembered and looked for it, it was nowhere in sight!
When I saw that it was indeed gone, I burst into tears, for I had lost all my treasures, and had nothing but muddy feet and a wet and torn dress. So I set out for home.

Richie and her husband, Pooh, decided on visiting Cape Cod, a beautiful sea town, which is about three hours drive from the city of Boston. Their daughter who then lived in Salem close to Boston insisted that she would pick them up. But they were confident of their sense of direction and not wanting to trouble her, so they refused her offer. They decided to take their journey in their own car and started early in the morning.
After a three-hour drive, they arrived in Cape Cod and started their new discovery with a road map of the town and its suburbs. Since there were many places to see, it took them the whole day to finish their sightseeing.
Now, they were visiting a suburb with shops selling handmade items. Richie was most interested in shopping, while Pooh warned her to finish before it started getting dark. They were so absorbed in their shopping that they forgot about the time until the shops began to close.
They took the same route back. Pooh had a very good memory and a keen sense of direction and so Richie just blindly followed him, without knowing where they were heading to. Soon they found themselves just going round in a maze, realizing they got lost on the way.
They had to stop the car, referred to their map, and started again. After some time, they realized it was no use trying and finding their way back. Their mobile phones had been dead for hours, and it was impossible to contact their daughter. Having no other option, they decided to ask someone for help, but being a Sunday, the roads were empty, with no people walking around or cars passing by. They were getting worried and terrified with each passing minute. The darkness and panic filled Richie's head with horrible thoughts "Would they be robbed or attacked "After hours of waiting silently in the darkness, they decided to try again.

"I know, I'm just not hungry this morning," Jenny replied, picking at her eggs with a fork. All she could think about was facing the competition. What if she performed poorly What if she disappointed her coach and teammates She wouldn't be able to forgive herself.
Jenny's mom sensed her daughter's worry and gave her a comforting pat on the back. "You'll be great, dear. Just do your best. That's all that matters."
Jenny felt a bit of relief and appreciated her mother's kind words. But by the time she got to the athletic club where the swim meet was being held, that feeling of comfort had disappeared. She went to the locker room to prepare for the competition.

What a dilemma! I could keep it and get all kinds of things for myself and my family. Or I could give it all back. **Somebody helps me with this!" I begged. But I really didn't need anyone else to give me the answer. I already knew right from wrong. I decided not to fail this test. It was a test of honor-my honor.
