以讀促寫:情感表達之“憤怒”
My inner anger was like a growing monster, uncontrollably driving me to the edge of madness. Before I realized it, I was sobbing in my sister's room, with bullets of words firing through my mouth, expressing my long buried dissatisfaction towards her absence from my snow shoveling experiences. The house seemed to be holding its breath when I stopped my accusation, still weeping.
高分悟道 本段中使用了“like a growing monster”與“with bullets of words firing through my mouth”兩處比喻的修辭手法和“uncontrollably driving me to the edge of madness”一處夸張的修辭手法,形象地刻畫了作者內心極大的憤怒。
高分有招 常見的表示“憤怒”的高分詞塊和句式有: explode with anger 勃然大怒 tremble with anger 氣得發抖 a burst of anger 一股怒火 storm into/out of 氣沖沖闖入/離開 sb.'s face darkened/falls某人的臉黑/沉了下來 fuel one's anger 激怒某人 be tongue tied with anger 氣得說不出話來

數智賦能 隨堂訓練—用單元所學知識補全語段
(2021·全國甲卷· 閱讀理解C篇)When I was 9, we packed up our home in Los Angeles and arrived at Heathrow, London on a gray January morning.Everyone in the family settled quickly into the city except me.Without my beloved beaches and endless blue sky days, I felt at a loss and out of place.Until I made a discovery.
Southbank, at an eastern bend in the Thames, is the center of British skateboarding, where the continuous crashing of skateboards left your head ringing.I loved it.I soon made friends with the local skaters. We spoke our own language. And my favorite: Safe.Safe meant cool.It meant hello. It meant don't worry about it.Once, when trying a certain trick on the beam (橫桿),I fell onto the stones, damaging a nerve in my hand, and Toby came over, helping me up: Safe, man.Safe.A few minutes later, when I landed the trick, my friends beat their boards loud, shouting:“Safe!_Safe!_Safe!” And that's what mattered — landing tricks, being a good skater.
When I was 15, my family moved to Washington.I tried skateboarding there, but the locals were far less welcoming.Within a couple of years, I'd given it up.
When I returned to London in 2004, I found myself wandering down to Southbank, spending hours there.I've traveled back several times since, most recently this past spring. The day was cold but clear; tourists and Londoners stopped to watch the skaters.Weaving (穿梭) among the kids who rushed by on their boards, I found my way to the beam. Then a rail thin teenager, in a baggy white T shirt, skidded (滑) up to the beam.He sat next to me. He seemed not to notice the man next to him.But soon I caught a few of his glances.“I was a local here 20 years ago,” I told him. Then, slowly, he began to nod his head.“Safe, man.Safe.”
“Yeah,” I said.“Safe.”

During the first few weeks, I was overwhelmed by the academic requirements. Long lists of reference books, numerous projects, papers and professors with varying personalities wore me out, which sometimes made me sad and homesick. But luckily, I met some classmates from all over the world, and the wonderful interactions with people reduced my negative feelings. Learning how to make friends with people from different cultures and backgrounds is really fun. Moreover, interacting with these new friends helps me have a better understanding of the countries they represent.

My inner anger was like a growing monster, uncontrollably driving me to the edge of madness. The house seemed to be holding its breath when I stopped my accusation, still weeping.

(2021·全國甲卷· 閱讀理解C篇)When I was 9, we packed up our home in Los Angeles and arrived at Heathrow, London on a gray January morning.Everyone in the family settled quickly into the city except me.Without my beloved beaches and endless blue-sky days, I felt at a loss and out of place.Until I made a discovery.
It meant don't worry about it.Once, when trying a certain trick on the beam (橫桿),I fell onto the stones, damaging a nerve in my hand, and Toby came over, helping me up: Safe, man.Safe.A few minutes later, when I landed the trick, my friends beat their boards loud, shouting:“Safe! Safe! Safe!” And that's what mattered — landing tricks, being a good skater.
Then a rail-thin teenager, in a baggy white T-shirt, skidded (滑) up to the beam.
He sat next to me. He seemed not to notice the man next to him.But soon I caught a few of his glances.“I was a local here 20 years ago,” I told him. Then, slowly, he began to nod his head.“Safe, man.Safe.”
“Yeah,” I said.“Safe.”

(2025·重慶模擬)“A fish out of water.” “A bike without a chain.”There are many metaphors for culture shock, all of which attempt to describe the unique experience of being far from one's home country and culture.
Scientists have studied culture shock for over a century. Rather than focus on the purely negative aspects, psychologists describe it as a process of stress and adjustment. The first stage is the honeymoon phase, when we are filled with excitement about being in another country.
Eventually, as daily challenges arise, we enter a state of crisis and anxiety, harboring unfriendly feelings about the host culture. The longer we are immersed in the culture, the harder it is for us to adjust and recover from those negative feelings. Finally, after some time we adjust even more and fully accept the new culture.
One of the factors that determines how we react to cultural stress is our personality. Not surprisingly, extraverts (外向者) tend to have an easier time adjusting to new cultures. That is because being in a new country means meeting many new people and spending a lot of time around them, and extraverts thrive in these situations. But introverts simply prefer to be alone after spending time in groups, and only have limited energy to spend in social settings.
Cultural intelligence, or CQ, also plays its part. Cultural intelligence is defined as the capability of an individual to function effectively in situations characterized by cultural diversity. It has to do with our interest in interacting with people from culturally diverse backgrounds, and our ability to adapt to new cultural context. It is argued that the higher our CQ, the lesser the effect of culture shock on our ability to cope in new situations.
Many effective coping strategies are interpersonal. A recent study found that relating to others with empathy is significantly associated with lower stress levels abroad. The more we are able to take on other people's points of view, the more positive our interpersonal relationships and thus our adaptation to the stress of culture shock.

(2025·哈爾濱模擬)Living and studying abroad can be a rewarding and enriching experience. And living with a host family is one of the best ways to immerse yourself in its culture. However, living with a foreign family can be difficult and adjusting to it can take some effort. 1
Involve yourself in family activities. If you spend all your time in your room, it's going to be hard to feel like you belong. Getting involved in everyday activities with your host family will help you create a family bond. For example, some families like having dinner together on weekends. 2 Not only will they appreciate it but you will also feel like a part of their world.
Be patient with yourself. Keep in mind that you've just left everything you've known for years behind to start a new life. It's okay to be confused. 3 While you may know the language, some expressions and slang can be hard to grasp at first. Take it easy. Remember you will adapt but it will take some time.
Communication is key. If you are unsure about something, ask! It's normal to know few customs and habits at first. 4 Your host family will understand and help you. It's also normal not to know a lot about unspoken social rules of the country.
5 You have to understand that host families are not just providing a roof over your head. They are making significant changes to their daily routines. Thank them for their kindness, patience and understanding. Let them know how much their assistance means to you.
Remember, a grateful heart is a happy heart, and a happy heart will lead you to further success and fulfillment in your life abroad.
A.Be open and respectful.
B.Make time for those moments.
C.The language barrier can also be a struggle.
D.So instead of doing things blindly, just ask!
E.Showing your gratitude will take you a long way.
F.You may well recall the memorable moments with friends back home.
G.Here are some tips on making the most of your host family experience.

2.選B 上文提到有些家庭喜歡在周末一起吃晚飯,下文說明了周末一起聚餐會有積極效果。B項承上啟下,選項中的“those moments”和上文中的“some families like having dinner together on weekends.”相呼應。
3.選C 根據上下文可知,在國外學習生活意味著放棄了多年來所熟悉的一切,開始新的生活,存在困惑是正常的。C項承上啟下,選項中的also和上文形成遞進關系,“The language barrier”和下文的“some expressions and slang can be hard to grasp”相呼應,說明語言障礙也是適應過程中的一項挑戰。
4.選D 根據上文可知,如果有不確定的事情要主動發問,嘗試去了解一些風俗習慣。D項和上文形成因果關系,表示在了解的過程中需要大膽去詢問。選項中的“just ask!”和上文中的“If you are unsure about something, ask!”相呼應。

10.that/which 考查定語從句。分析句子結構可知,空處引導定語從句,先行詞是表示物的lectures,從句中缺少主語,故填that/which。

閱讀下面材料,根據其內容和所給段落開頭語續寫兩段,使之構成一篇完整的短文。
Seven-year-old Maggie was a grade-one pupil. She often spent her free time socializing with the seniors at a local retirement facility. In general, she would talk about puzzles, ice cream bars, and everything under the sun with the seniors. But most particularly, Maggie read to them, which she called her sweet task. Once or twice a week, the little girl put a few books in her backpack and got ready to visit the elderly at the facility.
精品課件·名師析題
This sweet task began on a snowy day. Maggie's mom, Tiffany Kuznia, worked at the retirement facility and often brought her daughter with her to work. As little Maggie was packing her bag, Kuznia reminded her to bring her Nintendo Switch so she would not get bored. Maggie quickly replied that she had different plans for the day. “I'm going to bring books and I'm going to read to the residents,” she declared.
On arrival, the girl knocked on every door of the facility to offer her services. That day, she made a good start. Patti Griggs, a retired elementary school teacher, was astonished by her reading talent. “She's such a good little reader. I taught first-grade kids how to read. There were very few children who could come in and read like that,” said Griggs.
With time, Maggie became so beloved among the residents that she even had “regulars” she read to every week. She often visited each one for over an hour. Her mom checked on her regularly to make sure she wasn't overstaying her welcome. Much to Maggie's delight, the residents were more than happy to have her with them for an extended period of time. They were always ready to help her out when she struggled with new words. Such hiccups (小問題) happened less and less and Maggie grew more confident of reading aloud.
Two months later, Maggie realized that her companions had different hobbies and interests. And their educational levels varied from person to person. It was high time that she should make some changes.
注意:1.續寫詞數應為150左右;
2.請按如下格式作答。
Maggie decided to choose different books according to their tastes.
___________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________ With Patti Griggs' help, a personalized reading plan was ready.

參考范文:
Maggie decided to choose different books according to their tastes. To satisfy everyone's taste, she asked each senior what type of reading materials they enjoyed listening to. She got different answers which involved current news, children's stories, recipe and travel books. Some were more interested in poetry and drama. With the collected information, she made a reading plan for everyone. In order to make the plan practical, she went to Patti Griggs for help, who gave her some useful guidance.
With Patti Griggs' help, a personalized reading plan was ready. Now the first priority was to get so many kinds of reading materials. Maggie managed to win over her mother and buy many varieties of books from the bookstore. She also borrowed some from her little friends. Moved by Maggie's kindness, some seniors donated their favorite books. Patti Griggs also downloaded some poems and humorous stories from the Internet and printed them to Maggie. Everything was going smoothly. Apparently the sweet task was a win-win situation benefiting both sides. Maggie improved her reading skills and made some adorable friends. As for the residents, Maggie brightened up their day.選擇性必修2 UNIT 2 單元雙測·課時作業(一)

(2025·重慶模擬)“A fish out of water.” “A bike without a chain.”There are many metaphors for culture shock, all of which attempt to describe the unique experience of being far from one’s home country and culture.
The more we are able to take on other people’s points of view, the more positive our interpersonal relationships and thus our adaptation to the stress of culture shock.

If you spend all your time in your room, it’s going to be hard to feel like you belong. Getting involved in everyday activities with your host family will help you create a family bond. For example, some families like having dinner together on weekends. 2 Not only will they appreciate it but you will also feel like a part of their world.
Be patient with yourself. Keep in mind that you’ve just left everything you’ve known for years behind to start a new life. It’s okay to be confused. 3 While you may know the language, some expressions and slang can be hard to grasp at first. Take it easy. Remember you will adapt but it will take some time.
Communication is key. If you are unsure about something, ask! It’s normal to know few customs and habits at first. 4 Your host family will understand and help you. It’s also normal not to know a lot about unspoken social rules of the country.

  閱讀下面材料,根據其內容和所給段落開頭語續寫兩段,使之構成一篇完整的短文。
Seven year old Maggie was a grade one pupil.
This sweet task began on a snowy day. Maggie’s mom, Tiffany Kuznia, worked at the retirement facility and often brought her daughter with her to work. As little Maggie was packing her bag, Kuznia reminded her to bring her Nintendo Switch so she would not get bored. Maggie quickly replied that she had different plans for the day. “I’m going to bring books and I’m going to read to the residents,” she declared.
On arrival, the girl knocked on every door of the facility to offer her services. That day, she made a good start. Patti Griggs, a retired elementary school teacher, was astonished by her reading talent. “She’s such a good little reader. I taught first grade kids how to read. There were very few children who could come in and read like that,” said Griggs.
With time, Maggie became so beloved among the residents that she even had “regulars” she read to every week. She often visited each one for over an hour. Her mom checked on her regularly to make sure she wasn’t overstaying her welcome. Much to Maggie’s delight, the residents were more than happy to have her with them for an extended period of time.
注意:1.續寫詞數應為150左右;
2.請按如下格式作答。
Maggie decided to choose different books according to their tastes.

With Patti Griggs’ help, a personalized reading plan was ready.

Maggie decided to choose different books according to their tastes. To satisfy everyone’s taste, she asked each senior what type of reading materials they enjoyed listening to. She got different answers which involved current news, children’s stories, recipe and travel books. Some were more interested in poetry and drama. With the collected information, she made a reading plan for everyone. In order to make the plan practical, she went to Patti Griggs for help, who gave her some useful guidance.
With Patti Griggs’ help, a personalized reading plan was ready. Now the first priority was to get so many kinds of reading materials. Maggie managed to win over her mother and buy many varieties of books from the bookstore. She also borrowed some from her little friends. Moved by Maggie’s kindness, some seniors donated their favorite books. Patti Griggs also downloaded some poems and humorous stories from the Internet and printed them to Maggie. Everything was going smoothly. Apparently the sweet task was a win win situation benefiting both sides. Maggie improved her reading skills and made some adorable friends. As for the residents, Maggie brightened up their day.
