第一節(jié)
Respected teachers, my fellow students,
I’m Li Hua. I feel honored to give you a speech entitled “Be a Cultural Ambassador”.
As we all know, China is a country with a long history and splendid culture. It is our
responsibility and duty to spread our culture to the world. There are many ways for us to be a
cultural ambassador.
First, we should have a good command of English. Second, we can volunteer to be guides for
foreigners and introduce our customs, history and so on. Besides, we can help foreigners learn
Chinese.
Everybody can be a cultural ambassador , so let’s take action now!
Thanks for your listening!
第二節(jié)
It was not just the smoke but a big fire! David couldn’t believe his eyes. The fire appeared to have
started in a building and quickly got out of control. Desperate as he was for the championship, he
felt he should do the right thing. With this thought in his mind, David decisively went off course
and swung his sail towards a worker nearby. “Fire!” David shouted, pointing in the direction of the
fire. After explaining the situation to the worker, he borrowed his cellphone and called the fire
department. Then David breathed a sigh of relief and turned his attention to the race.
{#{QQABbYIw4gi4wAZACB5qQUU6CgqQkIGSLcoGARAcuAQigZFIFIA=}#}
The other windsurfers were far ahead of him at the time. However hard he tried, he couldn’t catch
up with them. Despite this, David didn’t regret having helped with the fire. Back on the beach
after the race, David was immediately surrounded by enthusiastic reporters and photographers.
Then came the announcement from the speaker system, “Though he finished in last place, David
is our hero, who went off course to warn of the fire!” Then the crowd burst into thunderous
applause. Some people even pushed their way through the crowd to present David with flowers,
which lit up his face.
根據(jù)Wayfinding中“Due to the standing nature of this position, 4 hours will be
rewarded for 2 hours of Wayfinding service.(由于該職位的站立性質(zhì),提供 2小時尋路服務(wù)可獲
根據(jù) Patient Transport中“Shifts are available seven days a week anytime between
【23題詳解】A
根據(jù) Applying to the Summer Volunteer Program中“Sign up for an Information
Session on zoom. Sign-ups are on a first come, first serve basis.(報名參加一個關(guān)于 zoom的信息
故選 A項。
由文章第一段“Jill Wheatley was a PE teacher in Germany. On the weekends she
competed in marathons around Europe. But life threw her a near deadly blow. While teaching a PE
class, she was hit in the head with a baseball. The impact was so great it left her with a brain
injury and 70 percent vision loss, permanently blinding her in one eye.
She travelled to Nepal where a friend convinced her to run in the
Annapurna 100 with him. The power from that race changed her life and eventually had her
looking up at the tops of the mountains. Project Vision 8000 was born.
{#{QQABbYIw4gi4wAZACB5qQUU6CgqQkIGSLcoGARAcuAQigZFIFIA=}#}
【26題詳解】A
The experience almost claimed her life, but it is now the driving
force and fuel behind her success. At every icy peak, she smiles and takes a quick video with a
breathless‘so very thankful’ whispered into the thin air.(這段經(jīng)歷幾乎奪去了她的生命,但現(xiàn)在
故選 A項。
While teaching a PE class, she was hit in the head with a baseball.
The impact was so great it left her with a brain injury and 70 percent vision loss, permanently
blinding her in one eye.
At every icy peak, she smiles and takes
a quick video with a breathless‘so very thankful’ whispered into the thin air.(在每一個結(jié)冰的山
根據(jù)第一段“Shubin writes clearly about various complex topics, integrating stories
about his own fieldwork experiences in these places and arguing that polar science provides an
angle to see the natural world and the extraordinary ways we have come to know it.(舒賓清晰地
【29題詳解】A
根據(jù)劃線詞后文“Margaret Bradshaw, one of the first women to lead field teams in
Antarctica; Maureen Raymo, who studies terrestrial weathering and the carbon cycle; and Mary
Dawson, a paleontologist who discovered that the Arctic was warm 50 million years ago and
animals could travel between continents.(瑪格麗特·布拉德肖,她是最早領(lǐng)導(dǎo)南極野外考察小
故選 A。
根據(jù)第四段“While these regions seem remote from civilisation, Shubin reveals the
impacts of pole changes on the other parts of the globe. These include increased greenhouse gas
release, sped-up global warming, changes to animal populations, and the reemergence of diseases
like anthrax. One of the most important impacts is on the Atlantic Meridional Overturning
{#{QQABbYIw4gi4wAZACB5qQUU6CgqQkIGSLcoGARAcuAQigZFIFIA=}#}
Circulation(AMOC), an ocean current that brings warm water to the north Atlantic and keeps
Europe “warm” relative to other locations at the same latitude. A collapse of the AMOC, which
some experts argue is already occurring, could bring colder weather to these countries.(雖然這些
根據(jù)最后一段““Having led my own explorations to polar regions for several
decades, I feel the work has become a part of me,” writes Shubin. “But the opposite is also true:
our lives become part of the landscape itself.” Following this line of reasoning, we find it
important to remember that our lives in nonpolar regions affect what happens at the poles.(舒賓寫
At top universities, there’s a phenomenon known as “Stanford Duck
Syndrome (綜合征)”. Like ducks, students appear to move gracefully (優(yōu)雅地). However, beneath
the surface, they’re kicking desperately to keep up.
和第二段中“Experts from Stanford’s Health Services uncovered this
troubling trend: during the day, many Stanford students are seen socializing in cafés, seemingly
without any stress or the need to study. However, at night, they start studying, sometimes for the
entire night, trying to maintain the image of effortless success.
C。
【33題詳解】A
由文章第二段中“This comes at a high price: tiredness and anxiety are widespread.
Furthermore, it leads to a common misconception: true geniuses achieve success with ease, while
those working hard are less capable.
故選 A。
由文章第三段中“As the difficulty of the task increased, there was a noticeable
{#{QQABbYIw4gi4wAZACB5qQUU6CgqQkIGSLcoGARAcuAQigZFIFIA=}#}
increase in brain activity, particularly in areas linked to memory and abstract reasoning.
“The study reveals that as tasks require more effort, more areas of the brain become engaged.
由文章倒數(shù)第二段中 “Growth doesn’t come from talent alone but from the
consistent application of effort. Our brain functions like a muscle. Without effort, even our inborn
talents will fade over time.
和“By encouraging
a culture that values effort, we can help students realize that intelligence is not fixed but grows
through hard work.
36.根據(jù)上文“So how can we get this important thing (那么我們怎樣才能得到這個重要的東西
37.后文“That depends on your latitude (緯度) on the Earth and how dark or light your skin is. In
Miami in the summer, it only takes a few minutes for a person with a medium skin tone to get
their vitamin D for the day. In Boston in the winter, that same person might take two hours to
get the same amount of vitamin D.
38.根據(jù)后文“Fish carry tons of vitamin D in their fat, so fatty fish like trout and salmon tend to
be great sources of the vitamin. Cod liver oil always tops lists of vitamin D sources, as if
people are buying cod liver oil and taking spoonfuls of it like in old cartoons. Several land
animals also make enough vitamin D to be worth considering as a good source of vitamin D,
39.根據(jù)后文“There is some vitamin D naturally present in the milkfat, so skim milk doesn’t
usually have much vitamin D, but whole milk does — and it’s often fortified (強化) to bring
those levels up even more.(乳脂中含有一些天然的維生素 D,所以脫脂牛奶通常不含太多
{#{QQABbYIw4gi4wAZACB5qQUU6CgqQkIGSLcoGARAcuAQigZFIFIA=}#}
40.此空為小標(biāo)題;根據(jù)本段內(nèi)容“Health professionals generally agree that if you aren’t sure if
you’re getting enough vitamin D from food and the sun, just take a supplement. That’s going
to be safer than trying to meet all your needs through sunlight, since the vitamin-converting
rays of the sun are the same rays that can potentially contribute to skin cancer.(健康專家普
A. instructions指示;B. promises承諾;C. requests
根據(jù)上文 “With winter entering a particularly bitter cold and
temperatures dropping into below zero every night, our electric furnace (火爐 ) stopped
working. I reached a repairman only to find that he was overwhelmed by”和下文 “from
A. before在…… C. after
根據(jù)下文“someone could arrive here”可知,要過 8天才能
有人到這里來,“It would be+時間段+before...”
故選 A。
A. apparently
to the local hardware store and bought two space heaters”可知,由于電爐無法及時修理,
A.hanging 懸掛;B. moving 移動;C. abandoning 拋棄;D.
connecting連接。根據(jù)下文“them from living room during the day to the bedrooms at night”

B。
A. hopeful有希望的;B. stable穩(wěn)定的;C. comfortable舒適
根據(jù)上文“went to the local hardware store and bought two space
A. adventures
this did, however, was to remind me of my own childhood winter”和下文“I remembered as a
和外套,走進客廳,那里有一個燒木柴的爐子為整個房子供暖。A.waking up 醒來 ;
{#{QQABbYIw4gi4wAZACB5qQUU6CgqQkIGSLcoGARAcuAQigZFIFIA=}#}
B.driving away趕走 ;C. stepping in走進;D. leaving off停止。
on thick socks, jean, and a coat”可知,這些是早上“醒來”后的動作。故選 A。
A. decorated裝飾;B.
根據(jù)上文“going into the living room
where a single wood stove”和下文“the whole house”可知,木爐的作用是為房子“供暖”,

A. resign 辭職;B. inspect檢查;C. reflect反映;D. gain 獲得。

Jessica

M: No. I had to change the ticket to Saturday to finish my work. What about you

M: Lily, your new Chinese-style dress looks really nice.
W: Thank you. New Chinese style is becoming popular among young people. It is increasingly
adopted across various aspects of our lives.
M: As of early February, there were over 2.6 million notes related to the hashtag of “new
Chinese-style dressing” and the same topic has got millions of views on the social platform.
W:Wow, I never expected so many people to be interested in it.
M: Good morning, could I see Dr. Smith at 2:00 pm on Wednesday at the clinic
W: Sorry, we have an opening at 9:30 am on Thursday.
M: I’m afraid I’ll have a meeting at that time. How about the same time on the next day
W: Alright, please arrive about 15 minutes early to fill out some necessary paperwork.
W: Alex, did you hear the grand opening of the 9th Paris Chinese Opera Festival took place at the
Guimet National Asian Arts Museum Theater in Paris
M: Yes. The opening performance featured students and teachers from the Peking Opera and
Kunqu Opera of the Chinese Opera Academy. They presented the classic Peking Opera The
Orphan of Zhao.
M: Did you watch the football match on TV last Friday night It was so intense.
W: Oh, yes, but I wish I could have stayed awake long enough to see the final result. You
know, I was too exhausted after a long week’s work.
{#{QQABbYIw4gi4wAZACB5qQUU6CgqQkIGSLcoGARAcuAQigZFIFIA=}#}
M: That’s a pity. The Chinese team won finally.
M: Nancy, I heard the first World Conference of Classics was held last week.
W: Yes.⑥It was from November 6th to 8th and I went there on the middle day. Scholars from
around the globe attended the event and shared some valuable insights into the rich meaning of
classics.
M: Why is it so important to study classics
W: Great works never go out of style. We draw great wisdom and resources from ancient times.
M: Do you have any suggestions for those classics beginners
W: ⑦Read some works of Plato, Aristotle and also some ancient Chinese classics related to
Confucius. Reading is the most important thing. A local history museum also provides a
platform to experience the ancient civilization.
W: Henry, do you prefer paper books or e-books
M: I prefer paper reading. ⑧It engages multiple senses—touching, seeing, feeling, and even
smelling. The feel of paper pages under your fingertips provides your brain with some
context, which can lead to a deeper understanding and better comprehension of the subject
you’re reading.
W: Have you read any books recently
M: I personally enjoy reading historical accounts. ⑨I recently read a book written by David
McCullough about the Wright Brothers and their work to bring about flight. Reading about
it makes me more curious about air travel and how it has evolved.
W: That’s great. I also enjoy visiting places where historical events have occurred after reading
about them.
M: That sounds great. Maybe we can go together.
Text 8
M: Shirley, weren’t you watching TV
W: Mom said I could watch TV or online videos for at most an hour every day. So I’m doing
some reading now.
M: Is it interesting
W: Actually, it’s just so-so, but we can pick up some tips about how to avoid bear attacks
in the wilderness.
M: So what should we do if we encounter a bear
W: We should avoid turning and running. It may alarm a bear and trigger it to run after you.
Instead, back away slowly and never take your eyes off the threat.
M: We’ll take a hiking trip out of town this weekend. Are you afraid
W: Bro, you must be kidding. There aren’t any bears in the suburbs, and it’s safe from
wild animals’ attack. I can’t wait to see those small animals in the mountain.
M: (16)Today I’m talking to a student, who changed her major from math to journalism. How
did you get started
W: The turning point came when I participated in a school event that required attendees to film
and edit a short video centered on life. When I was filming a video, I acted on my ideas right
away. That made me feel accomplished and confirmed my love for this work.
{#{QQABbYIw4gi4wAZACB5qQUU6CgqQkIGSLcoGARAcuAQigZFIFIA=}#}
M: How is it going after you changed your major
W: I often questioned whether I was truly suited for the media industry. “Would my love for it
last once it became my job ” This was a growing concern for me.
M: So how do you manage the situation
W: I worked for a month at a local media company. I worked as a journalist.
M: Are there any unforgettable experiences
W: Yes. One of the most memorable interviews was with a 12-year-old girl. She surprised the
audience with a piano performance, which I thought would make a good news story.
Unfortunately, since the performance wasn’t included in the program guide, I didn’t
prepare adequately. The girl was also nervous during the first conversation, and due to the
rushed timing, I wasn’t able to collect enough content.
M: That sounds terrible.
W: Yes. But this experience taught me the importance of thorough preparation.
M: I’m truly grateful to you for bringing this to our audience.
W: Hello, everyone. This is Stuff You Should Know. It has long been scientifically established
that weather changes can affect people’s moods. Now a new study has provided evidence that
temperature can influence people’s personalities. This study of over 1.6 million people showed
that 22 degrees Celsius is the perfect air temperature to live in. A city with an average annual
temperature closer to 22 degrees Celsius tends to have a population who are more agreeable,
emotionally stable and outgoing. It is the best temperature for the body to regulate its own
temperature. The study was observational and didn’t show a casual link, but the scientists behind it
theorize that better weather leads people to leave their homes more often. This in turn leads to
more social interaction which encourages them to develop a friendlier and socially more
acceptable personality. Warmer climates also make people feel more positive in general.
Roughly speaking, about 40 percent of a person’s personality is determined by their genes.
The other 60 percent by their environment. Scientists also knew that these personalities are
associated with a broad range of following outcomes. These outcomes include economic activities,
health behaviors and health outcomes. And it is well established that personality traits differ
between countries. Thanks for your listening.
