Some Arrangements for the Beijing Tour
Day 1
Any visit to Beijing is incomplete without a hike on the Great Wall. However, it is thousands of miles long and the Beijing section is only a small part of the Great Wall. Just a few days after his 18th birthday, Beijing 2022 gold medal winner Su Yiming received a surprise gift—a letter from Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China.
In the letter Xi expressed his congratulations to Su and other sportsmen in ice and snow sports for their great achievements at the Beijing Winter Olympics, hoping what they had achieved would encourage young Chinese to aim (立目標) high.
When Su first stepped onto a snowboard at the age of four, a future as a world-classs portsman seemed to be “a dream too big” for him. I love travelling, but it hasn’t always been my passion. In my first year of university, I started to travel during the holiday. During the Christmas holiday I went to Paris, and during the spring vacation, I visited Athens and various cities in Italy. I was very excited because this was the first time I had travelled abroad with just my friends. This desire to travel started off simply as a way to have something to look forward to after exams, but I soon discovered how important it is to travel.
On my travels I have had the opportunity where I not only experience new and exciting cultures through the art, history, language and food, but also communicate with people who have different views on life. Travelling is a learning experience for both yourself and the people you meet. Some people I met during my travels had never heard of Gambia and it was very delightful to share my African roots with them. When you travel you will meet people who have different cultural backgrounds and as a result, sometimes your own ideas and opinions might be challenged. It’s important to learn to see things from other people’s perspectives (視角) and challenge your own.
This is how I realized that travelling is the realization of home. When you travel you can see a different setting, a different language and a different way of living.

◆Read only what you are interested in

The daughter then asked, “What does it mean, Mom ” Her mother explained that these objects had faced the same adversity—boiling water, but they reacted differently. The carrots had been hard. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, they softened and became weak. The eggs had been weak. Their thin outer shells had protected their liquid interior(內部). But after sitting through the boiling water, their inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water. “Which are you ” the mother asked her daughter.
