One interesting fact is that they can jump high out of the water.Another interesting fact is that they are able to sing songs. Sadly, as far as I know, the population of them is dropping. Here are the main reasons.
First, humans catch whales for their teeth, fat and oil. Second, human's activities cause water pollution. Third,whale parts are sold to make things,like candles and soap.So,it's necessary for us to protect the whales.
The government can make rules on whale protection. What's more, schools should teach children the importance of protecting whales. As for us, we shouldn't put rubbish into the sea.Always remember that protecting whale is protecting ourselves.

Have you ever read a book called The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway As soon as it came out in 1952, it became one of the most popular books home and abroad.
The book describes the life of an old fisherman called Santiago. He makes a living by catching fish. Unluckily, he hasn't caught a fish for 84 days. He doesn't give up and succeeds in hooking a fish. The fish is so huge and heavy that it takes him three days to catch it.
I am greatly moved by the old man's words that a man can be destroyed, but not defeated. It also reminds me not to give up easily in the face of difficulties.A long as we are brave and believe in ourselves, we will win in the end.

I am crazy about reading different kinds of books among all the books.My favourite book is Journey to the West.I want to share it with all of you.
It's a very famous novel in China. It was written by Wu Cheng'en. The book is about four men's trip to the west. On their way, they meet many bad people and fight against them. The book was so good that I couldn't put it down.First, I like the Monkey King very much. He is one of the main characters of the book. He can make 72 changes and he is brave enough to fight with any bad person and he can always win the fight at last. Second, this book teaches me never to give up when I am in trouble.If we are brave enough, we will succeed in the end.
There is no doubt that we can learn a lot this from book.

With the development of the society, great changes have taken place in my hometown in the past ten years.
Several years ago, my hometown was a small and poor village, which was difficult for villagers to make a living. Therefore, most young people travelled far to big cities to find jobs, with seniors and children left at home. Besides, with inconvenient transportation and no modern facilities. life here was dull and uncomfortable.
However,with the economic development and the improvement of people's living standards, my hometown has taken on a brand new look. First of all,compared to limited choices on daily diets ten years ago, more and more nutritious foods have been introduced to people's diet. What's more, there are many factories around my hometown, so young adults are moving back to work and accompany their family at the same time. Besides, in terms of the transportation, private cars can be seen everywhere. And now it is easy and convenient for us to do all kinds of activities, including going shopping, watching movies and going to concerts,which makes our life colorful and thrilling.
As far as I am concerned, I really enjoy and appreciate the life at present and I do believe my hometown will be better and better.
