The owl (貓頭鷹) always sleeps during the day. There was a certain old owl who had become very hard to please as she grew older, especially if anything disturbed (妨礙) her sleep. Long ago, a wolf called Howler lived in a valley (山谷). There were lots of fruit trees, but the most delicious fruit was on the very tall trees and Howler couldn’t reach it.
In the valley, a man named Martin had a few fruit trees. He looked after the trees very carefully. But he was too short to pick the fruit.
