根據IE Tech Camp部分中“In each week-long session, you’ll explore an inspiring university campus. (在為期一周的課程中,你將探索一個令人向往的大學校園)”以及Robotics Colony部分中“all on a leading university campus.
根據IE Tech Café部分中“Girls Ages 10-15|Week-long Sessions.
根據Future Makers Academy部分中“Interested in exploring the most guarded tech labs of tech giants We’ve got the chance for you.

根據第一段中“In fact, he inherited (繼承) excellent taste in art from his family — both his father and his brother were painters. 故選A項。
根據第四段中“Had Yeats stopped writing at age 40, he would probably now be valued as a minor poet, for there is no other example in literary history of a poet who produces his greatest works between the ages of 50 and 75. 在葉芝1939年逝世后)”以及第一段中“William Butler Yeats, a most famous Irish writer, was born in Dublin on June 13, 1865.
根據最后Auden所作的詩歌“Earth, receive an honoured guest: / William Yeats is laid to rest. / Let the Irish vessel (船) lie / Emptied of its poetry.
通讀全文,尤其是第一段中“But he finally settled on literature, particularly drama and poetry.

根據第一段“Millions of waterfowl were killed at the hands of market hunters and a handful of overly ambitious sportsmen. Millions of acres of wetlands were dried to feed and house the ever-increasing populations, greatly reducing waterfowl habitat.(數百萬只水禽被市場獵人和一些野心勃勃的運動員殺死。 故選A。
根據第一段“Native Americans had taken care of these precious natural resources wisely. Unfortunately, it took the explorers and the settlers who followed only a few decades to decimate a large part of these resources.(美洲原住民明智地保護了這些寶貴的自然資源。
根據最后一段“Since 1934, better than half a billion dollars has gone into that Fund to purchase more than 5 million acres of habitat.(自1934年以來,已有超過5億美元投入該基金,用于購買500多萬英畝的棲息地)”可知,自1934年通過法案,政府獲得超過5億美元,已經籌集了很多資金,以購買水禽棲息地。故選D。
根據第二段“Under this Act, all waterfowl hunters 16 years of age and over must annually purchase and carry a Federal Duck Stamp. 故選A。

根據第二段中“In contrast, parents who link their children’s actions, such as efforts or strategy use, to their performance are using process responses.(相比之下,將孩子的行為(如努力或策略的使用)與他們的表現聯系起來的父母正在使用過程反應。)”
根據倒數第二段中“While responses highlighting strategy and efforts are not related to any achievement outcomes, children who receive more responses about their personal characteristics -- in particular, related to failure -- are more likely to avoid harder math problems, exhibit higher levels of math anxiety, and score lower on math achievement tests.(雖然強調策略和努力的回答與任何成績結果無關,但收到更多關于個人特征(特別是與失敗有關的)回答的孩子更有可能避免更難的數學問題,表現出更高的數學焦慮水平,在數學成績測試中得分更低。)”
根據最后一段中“Because person responses predict poor math adjustment in children over time, researchers suggest parents limit this type of responses at home.(因為個人反應預示著孩子隨著時間的推移會有較差的數學適應能力,研究人員建議父母在家里限制這種反應。)”
通讀整篇文章,尤其是第一段中“Recently, a new study, conducted by the University of Georgia, found that encouraging children with responses related to their personal characteristics or inborn abilities might weaken their math motivation and achievement over time.(最近,喬治亞大學進行的一項新研究發現,隨著時間的推移,鼓勵孩子用與他們的個人特征或天生能力相關的回答可能會削弱他們的數學動機和成就。)” 所以B項“The Way Parents Talk to Children on Math Matters(父母與孩子談論數學問題的方式)”可作為最恰當的題目,故選B。

36.由上文“There are people who go over every detail before making a choice. 及下文“Psychologists call this way of thinking a cognitive bias (心理學家將這種思維方式稱為認知偏見,即傾向于犯特定的思維錯誤)”和“To study “jumping”, we examined decision-making patterns among more than 600 people from the general population. C選項“But a fair number of individuals are quick to jump to conclusions.
37.由上文“We found that jumpers made more errors than non-jumpers on problems that require thoughtful analysis. (我們發現,在需要深思熟慮的問題上,跳躍性思維者比非跳躍性思維者犯更多錯誤)”及下文“In a quiz, they overestimated the chance that their answers were right much more than other participants did — even when their answers were wrong. B選項“Also, jumpers had problems with overconfidence.
38.由上文“Jumpers and non-jumpers are equally influenced by automatic thoughts. (跳躍性思維者和非跳躍性思維者同樣受自動思維的影響)”及下文“A lack of controlled thinking is also more broadly connected to their problematic beliefs and faulty reasoning. E選項“However, they didn’t engage in controlled reasoning to the same degree.
39.由下文“A method called metacognitive training can be used to target their biases, which can help people think more cautiously. A選項“Happily, there may be some hope for jumpers. 故選A。
40.由上文“Recent studies have given us the answer which I quite agree with. G選項“Even gathering just a little bit more evidence may help us avoid a major mistake.

Firstly, it provides instant access to knowledge explanations, helping us clarify confusing concepts efficiently. Secondly, its personalized learning features allow students to review weak areas systematically. However, overreliance should be avoided. Without hesitation, Tom helped her up cautiously. But the ground was so slippery that he stumbled and nearly fell to the ground. Tom and Peter took turns to carry Sarah on their backs. Overwhelmed with heartfelt gratitude, she couldn’t utter a word. Exhausted as they were, they didn’t stop. The snow grew heavier, but with friends by their sides, all of them felt something warm inside.
After a long journey, they finally arrived at the school gate. The snow glistened in the light as they walked into the warm classroom, where their classmates and teacher were waiting for them anxiously. The teacher gave them a thumbs up and Sarah said, “I couldn’t thank you enough.” Touched deeply, the class burst into thunderous applause with smiles and cheers. The snowflakes were still swirling but the cozy atmosphere filled the classroom. It suddenly dawned on Tom that despite all the challenges, a small act of kindness is like a warm breeze blowing into everyone’s heart, which melted the ice and made a difference.

William Butler Yeats, a most famous Irish writer, was born in Dublin on June 13, 1865. His childhood lacked the harmony of a happy family. Later, Yeats shocked his family by saying that he remembered “little of childhood but its pain”. In fact, he inherited (繼承) excellent taste in art from his family — both his father and his brother were painters. But he finally settled on literature, particularly drama and poetry.
Yeats had strong faith in coming of new artistic movements. He set himself the fresh task in founding an Irish national theatre in the late 1890s. His early theatrical experiments, however, were not received favorably at the beginning. He didn’t lose heart, and finally enjoyed success in his poetical drama.
Compared with his dramatic works, Yeats’s poems attract much admiring notice. The subject matter includes love, nature, history, time and aging. Though Yeats generally depended on very traditional forms, he brought modern factors to them. As his literary life continued, his poetry grew finer and richer, which led him to worldwide recognition.
He had not enjoyed a major public life since winning the Nobel Prize in 1923. Yet, he continued writing almost to the end of his life. Had Yeats stopped writing at age 40, he would probably now be valued as a minor poet, for there is no other example in literary history of a poet who produces his greatest works between the ages of 50 and 75. After Yeats’s death in 1939, W. H. Auden wrote, among others, the following lines:
Earth, receive an honoured guest:
William Yeats is laid to rest.
Let the Irish vessel (船) lie
Emptied of its poetry.
24.Which of the following can describe Yeats’s family
A.It had an artistic atmosphere.
B.It was a typically wealthy family.
C.It was shocked by Yeats’s choice.
D.It filled Yeats’s childhood with joy.
25.According to the passage, what do we know about Yeats
A.He founded the first Irish theater.
B.He mainly wrote modern-style poems.
C.He rose to fame after winning the Nobel Prize.
D.He produced his best works in his last 25 years.
26.What feeling is expressed in W. H. Auden’s lines
A.Envy. B.Anxiety. C.Admiration. D.Emptiness.
27.What is the passage mainly about
A.Yeats’s national honor. B.Yeats’s artistic beliefs.
C.Yeats’s art and influence. D.Yeats’s pain and delight.

When the explorers first set foot upon the continent of North America, the skies and lands were alive with an astonishing variety of wildlife. Native Americans had taken care of these precious natural resources wisely. Unfortunately, it took the explorers and the settlers who followed only a few decades to decimate a large part of these resources. Millions of waterfowl (水禽) were killed at the hands of market hunters and a handful of overly ambitious sportsmen. Millions of acres of wetlands were dried to feed and house the ever-increasing populations, greatly reducing waterfowl habitat.
In 1934, with the passage of the Migratory Bird Hunting Stamp Act (Act), an increasingly concerned nation took firm action to stop the destruction of migratory (遷徙的) waterfowl and the wetlands so vital to their survival. Under this Act, all waterfowl hunters 16 years of age and over must annually purchase and carry a Federal Duck Stamp. The very first Federal Duck Stamp was designed by J.N. “Ding” Darling, a political cartoonist from Des Moines, lowa, who at that time was appointed by President Franklin Roosevelt as Director of the Bureau of Biological Survey. Hunters willingly pay the stamp price to ensure the survival of our natural resources.
About 98 cents of every duck stamp dollar goes directly into the Migratory Bird Conservation Fund to purchase wetlands and wildlife habitat for inclusion into the National Wildlife Refuge System — a fact that ensures this land will be protected and available for all generations to come. Since 1934, better than half a billion dollars has gone into that Fund to purchase more than 5 million acres of habitat. Little wonder the Federal Duck Stamp Program has been called one of the most successful conservation programs ever initiated.
28.What was a cause of the waterfowl population decline in North America
A.Loss of wetlands. B.Popularity of water sports.
C.Pollution of rivers. D.Arrival of other wild animals.
29.What does the underlined word “decimate” mean in the first paragraph
A.Acquire. B.Export.
C.Destroy. D.Distribute.
30.What is a direct result of the Act passed in 1934
A.The stamp price has gone down. B.The migratory birds have flown away.
C.The hunters have stopped hunting. D.The government has collected money.
31.Which of the following is a suitable title for the text
A.The Federal Duck Stamp Story B.The National Wildlife Refuge System
C.The Benefits of Saving Waterfowl D.The History of Migratory Bird Hunting

“You’re so smart!” This encouraging response to children’s math performance is commonly heard. Recently, a new study, conducted by the University of Georgia, found that encouraging children with responses related to their personal characteristics or inborn abilities might weaken their math motivation and achievement over time.
Parents who make comments linking their children’s performance to personal characteristics like intelligence are using what’s referred to as person responses. In contrast, parents who link their children’s actions, such as efforts or strategy use, to their performance are using process responses.
For the study, researchers asked more than 500 parents to report on how they responded to their children’s math performance and their math beliefs and goals. Children were assessed in two waves across a year to measure their math motivation and achievement.
The results show that parents who view math ability as changeable are more likely to give process responses focused on their children’s strategy use and efforts rather than their intelligence or other personal characteristics. In contrast, parents who believe math ability is unchangeable and that math failure can’t be constructive give more person responses. Parents with high expectations for their children give a combination of both responses. While responses highlighting strategy and efforts are not related to any achievement outcomes, children who receive more responses about their personal characteristics -- in particular, related to failure -- are more likely to avoid harder math problems, exhibit higher levels of math anxiety, and score lower on math achievement tests.
Because person responses predict poor math adjustment in children over time, researchers suggest parents limit this type of responses at home. Another recommendation for parents is to think about their own beliefs and goals for their kids and examine how these might lead them to respond in person or process ways. Simply telling parents to avoid talking about math ability may not be enough. Focusing less on how children perform and more on their strategy and enjoyment of math might be a more effective way to enhance motivation.
32.Which of the following is an example of process response
A.You are a lucky dog. B.Running is in your blood.
C.What works well for your study D.Why are you such a math genius
33.What can be inferred from the study results
A.Parents prefer to give more process responses.
B.Children are more likely to be affected by math anxiety.
C.Process responses help with children’s math achievement.
D.Person responses can discourage children from learning math.
34.What do researchers advise parents to do
A.Restrict person responses. B.Defend their own beliefs.
C.Stress children’s performance. D.Ignore children’s math problems.
35.Which can be a suitable title for the text
A.The Strategy Children Adopt to Learn Math Helps
B.The Way Parents Talk to Children on Math Matters
C.Responses to Enhance Children’s Math Performance
D.Suggestions for Parents to Teach Their Children Math

How much time do you spend doing research before you make a decision There are people who go over every detail before making a choice. 36 Psychologists call this way of thinking a cognitive bias (偏見), a tendency toward a specific mental mistake.
To study “jumping”, we examined decision-making patterns among more than 600 people from the general population. We found that jumpers made more errors than non-jumpers on problems that require thoughtful analysis. 37 In a quiz, they overestimated the chance that their answers were right much more than other participants did — even when their answers were wrong.
So what is behind“jumping” Psychological researchers commonly distinguish between two pathways of thought: automatic system, which reflects ideas that come to the mind easily, and controlled system including careful and effortful reasoning. Jumpers and non-jumpers are equally influenced by automatic thoughts. 38 A lack of controlled thinking is also more broadly connected to their problematic beliefs and faulty reasoning.
39 A method called metacognitive training can be used to target their biases, which can help people think more cautiously. In this training, participants can learn about the missteps and other ways of thinking through the problem at hand. It helps to weaken participants’ overconfidence.
In everyday life, the question of whether we should think things through or instead go with our gut (直覺)is a frequent and important one. Recent studies have given us the answer which I quite agree with. 40 Sometimes the most important decision we make can be to take some more time before making a choice.
A.Happily, there may be some hope for jumpers.
B.Also, jumpers had problems with overconfidence.
C.But a fair number of individuals are quick to jump to conclusions.
D.It is certainly possible for them to overthink things to make a decision.
E.However, they didn’t engage in controlled reasoning to the same degree.
F.We plan to continue the work to trace other problems introduced by jumping.
G.Even gathering just a little bit more evidence may help us avoid a major mistake.

For those students in city, the road to school might mean the convenience of their dad’s cars, where the heater keeps them comfortable and the radio plays music. But for Tom, who lived in a remote village, it meant a dangerous journey through strong winds and piles of snow.
It was a cold morning. The snow blanketed every rooftop and weighed on the branches of big trees. Tom woke up early, with the howling wind outside his small cabin (小木屋). He put on lots of clothes, including his thickest wool socks and warmest coat. As he was about to go, there was a knock on the door. It’s his classmate Peter in the same village. “Hey, Tom,” Peter said. “Do you think we should go to school today ” “I know it’s tough,” Tom replied, looking at the heavy snow outside, “but missing school means we’ll fall behind.” Finally, they decided to go to school.
The snow had been falling for days, building up on the narrow path that led to school. Tom and Peter stepped out into the snowstorm, with boots sinking deep into the snow. Tom used his arms to push the snow away, and his heart was pounding as he worked hard. He fell down a few times, but each time he got up again. “I must go to school!” Tom said firmly. Thinking about the other kids in the village who insisted on going to school, he knew they were facing the same challenge. But they were all trying to learn and grow.
The wind had blown snow all over the path, making it hard to see where they were going. Not far away, Tom heard someone crying from behind a tree. “Peter, do you hear that ” Tom asked in a puzzled tone. “Let’s go and have a look.” Peter answered.
