Staring in 2008, Zhang’s team studied how seagrass grow in coastal waters. To help the seagrass grow faster, the team came up with new methods. Every June, they collect young seagrass plants and grow them in pools. By the end of September, they move the young plants lo the ocean floor.
Thanks to their efforts, there is now more seagrass in the ocean. This has made the water cleaner and brought more animals to the area.
