Can you imagine just completing a life-saving training course and then having to test your skills the very next day on your best friend 16-year-old Torri'ell Norwood was behind the wheel of her car when another driver hit her car. The crash made the car containing Norwood and her three passengers go across someone's front lawn(草坪) and hit a tree.
The impact jammed Norwood's side door shut, so she climbed out of the front window. Two of her friends also managed to get out of the car unharmed, but the accident caused her friend A'zarria Simmons to hit her head on the backseat window. “When I turned around, I didn't see A'zarria running with us,” said Norwood. “So, I had to run back to the car as fast as I could. She was just sitting there unresponsive.”
And that's when the training Norwood had just learned kicked in. “A lot of people started to gather around to see what was happening. I started shouting, ‘Back up. She needs space.’” After pulling Simmons from the car, Norwood checked her vital signs. Unable to detect a pulse(脈搏), she immediately began employing the CPR techniques she'd so recently learned on Simmons. Doctors arrived shortly and transported Simmons to the nearest hospital.
Norwood, a junior at St. Petersburg's Lakewood High School, participates in the school's Athletic Lifestyle Management Academy (ALMA). “We do vital signs and they learn how to take blood pressure and check pulse rates. We have just about 100 students in our academy,” said Erika Miller, Norwood's teacher.
Miller noted that most of her former students never had the opportunity to use their CPR training until they became nurses or emergency medical technicians. “Not while they were still a student of mine and definitely not within 24 hours,” she said. “It is what every teacher dreams of, you know, that somebody listens, pays attention, and learns something.”

分析句子可知,her too late every night作表語,表示習慣性的動作,her是設空處的邏輯主語,應用動詞-ing形式。
解此類題目時應先分析句中的to是不定式符號(to do) 還是介詞(to doing)。the key to doing sth.

根據第一段中的“16-year-old Torri'ell Norwood was behind the wheel of her car when another driver hit her car.”
根據第二段中的“Two of her friends also managed to get out of the car unharmed, but the accident caused her friend A'zarria Simmons to hit her head on the backseat window.”和“She was just sitting there unresponsive.”
根據倒數第二段中的“We do vital signs and they learn how to take blood pressure and check pulse rates.”和最后一段中的“Miller noted that most of her former students never had the opportunity to use their CPR training until they became nurses or emergency medical technicians.”

It is what every teacher dreams of, you know, that somebody listens, pays attention, and learns something.
上文“Basic first aid refers to a temporary form of help given to someone who has been injured or has got sick due to choking, a heart attack, drugs or other medical emergencies.”解釋了什么是急救,下文是具體的急救方法,所以E項“Here are some tips for first aid(下面是一些急救技巧)”承上啟下,符合語境。故選E。
2.B 過渡句。根據上文“Care for the person who has just gone through serious damage, including both physical treatment and emotional support.”和下文“Let the person know that help is on its way and that everything will be all right.”
3.A 主旨句。 根據下文“You'd better listen for the sound of air coming in and out, and feel for air using the side of your face.” 故選A。
4.G 細節句。上文“Perform 30 chest compressions and rescue breathing twice as part of CPR.”提到要進行胸外按壓,結合下文“And then press the chest down about 2 inches at a rate of 100 compressions per minute.”可知,空處是進行胸外按壓的第一步,G項“In the center of the chest, put your two hands together first(在胸部中央,先把你的雙手放在一起)”符合語境。故選G。
5.C 細節句。上文“However, if the person has heatstroke, do not cover him or keep him warm.”
