W：Yes, I enjoy reading his short stories. What I admire about him most is that he started to write stories while he was in prison. Who is your favorite American writer, Mark Twain, Ernest Hemingway, or Jack London
M：Jack London. He was born into a poor family in San Francisco in 1876. He left school at fourteen, and became a sailor, a hunter, and an explorer. In 1897 he went to the Klondike in Canada. London found adventures that he put into his most famous stories and novels. London continued to travel until a few years before his death in 1916. Now I'm reading his story Love of Life. I'm sure you will like his works.

W：I am a model and actress, proud of my scars.In 2012 I got into a really bad burn accident.I put hot soup and vegetables in a cooker. And the cooker exploded.So I got up to third degree burns.It was a very tough time for me, because it wasn't until I got burnt that I realized how much of my identity I put in my looks.When it comes to my role models, I admire Turia Pitt most.She is a lady who ran a marathon and got caught in a grass fire.
And despite her looks on the outside after being burnt, she was on all these different magazine covers and inspiring women of all ages.That is awesome.My attitude towards beauty is that beauty comes from within.If you have a beautiful soul, and you do good things, and you practice good virtues, your beauty will shine.It doesn't matter what you look like on the outside.

Jessica Long, from Baltimore, Maryland, USA, is a champion by all definitions of the word. She is one of the world's most decorated swimmers. Jessica was the youngest athlete, at 12 years old, to win a Paralympics medal. But her path to becoming a champion has been anything but easy.
Jessica was born in Irkutsk, Russia with a serious and rare birth defect — fibular hemimelia (腓側半肢畸形). This means that part of her leg bones were missing or deformed. Fearing she could not care for Jessica, her young mother placed her in a Russian orphanage.
Fortunately, she was adopted by an American family when she was 13 months old. She required 25 different operations to help her leg condition. But unfortunately, both of her legs had to be amputated when she was just 18 months old.
Jessica learned to walk with man made legs. As a child, she took to sports including gymnastics, cheerleading, ice skating, biking, trampoline (蹦床), and rock climbing.
She began swimming at her grandparents' house before she started competitive swimming. She was really good at swimming. Shortly after she started competing, Jessica was selected as Maryland's Female Swimmer of the Year with Disability.
Then Jessica was encouraged to enter her first Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece. She won three gold medals in swimming at age 12! She was the youngest athlete on the US Paralympic Team to ever do so. But she did not rest on her success. Jessica has gone on to win 23 medals for Team USA at the Paralympics! She is one of the most decorated athletes of all time.
She is now a positive force on a mission to encourage the next generation of Paralympic athletes! Jessica always believes she can do anything. She always gives 110%. She is always learning. And she never allows herself to quit. As she says, “The only disability in life is a negative attitude.”

In her eyes, “normal” meant dancing, so Sally did it in her wheelchair right alongside her non disabled high school dance team. “Half of my body was taken away from me, and I have to move it with my hands,” Sally said. “It definitely took a lot of learning and patience.”
After graduation, Sally expanded her dance network to include women who had the same situation as her. She met people online who had suffered various spinal cord injuries (脊髓損傷), and invited them to dance with her by sharing her determination. “It was such an amazing experience.” Hoping to reach more people in a larger city, Sally moved to Los Angeles in 2016 and formed a team of dancers with disabilities called DREAM. “I want to show that dance is dance, whether you're walking or you're rolling.”
In Sally's dancing team, there was a girl Ella aged 12, who had been feeling depressed since the terrible accident. Having known about the girl's situation, Sally made efforts to seek every chance to help the little girl find back the confidence to live. Thanks to Sally's continuous efforts, the little girl recovered physically and mentally day by day. The other day, an invitation to a national dancing competition arrived. After a heated discussion, they reached an agreement that they would recommend Ella to the competition on behalf of the team.
