①M(fèi)any students in my school are unhappy with the rules. We say uniforms are too boring, homework takes too much time, and it’s boring that we mustn’t use phones in school. I used to (過去) think “Why can’t we just do what we want ” But lately, I start to realize that rules help us in many ways.
②Our school has rules like wearing uniforms, arriving on time, keeping classrooms quiet and clean, and not using phones during class. They seem boring at first, but every rule has a reason.
③Rules help us stay safe. For example, when we walk instead of running in hallways, it stops some accidents. Last month, my friend fell down because someone was rushing. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
④What’s more, rules create a good environment for everyone. Uniforms might not be beautiful, but they stop comparisons (比較) about clothes. No one feels left out because of what they wear. Phone rules also keep things fair. Imagine if some students play games during lessons while others try to listen—it won’t be right. ___▲___ If we talk loudly, it will distract (使分心) others.
⑤Most importantly, school rules teach us habits that last a lifetime. Turning in homework on time teaches us to be responsible (有責(zé)任心的). Cleaning our classrooms shows we care about shared spaces.
⑥Now I see rules are preparing me to be a better person. So next time when you think rules are awful, ask yourself, “How does this rule help our class or school ” Maybe the answer will change.
25.Which of the following can be put in the ___▲___
A.We mustn’t talk with classmates in class. B.Other students won’t listen carefully in class.
C.Keeping classrooms quiet helps everyone focus. D.Being late for class shows respect for your class.
26.Which is NOT mentioned about the benefits of school rules
A.Stopping students from comparing what they wear.
B.Giving students more free time to do fun activities.
C.Helping students learn to be responsible by finishing homework on time.
D.Stopping accidents in hallways by not letting students run there.
27.Which best shows the changes in the writer’s feelings about rules
A.Bored → Excited B.Unhappy → Understanding C.Scared → Friendly D.Angry → Relaxed
28.What’s the structure of the passage
A. B. C. D.
C
