表示所有關系的代詞叫作物主代詞。物主代詞分為形容詞性物主代詞和名詞性物主代詞，有人稱和數的變化。
形容詞性物主代詞
特點：相當于形容詞，后面必須跟名詞，不能單獨使用。 常用詞：my（我的）、your（你的；你們的）、his（他的）、her（她的）、its（它的）、our（我們的）、their（他們的；她們的；它們的） This is my book.（這是我的書。） Her favorite color is blue.（她最喜歡的顏色是藍色。） Your bag is on the desk.（你的包在桌子上。） Our teacher is very kind.（我們的老師很和藹。） The dog wagged its tail.（那條狗搖了搖它的尾巴。） Their house is near the park.（他們的房子在公園附近。）
名詞性物主代詞
特點：相當于名詞，后面不能跟名詞，可單獨使用（代替“形容詞性物主代詞 + 名詞”）。 常用詞：mine（我的）、yours（你的；你們的）、his（他的）、hers（她的）、its（它的）、ours（我們的）、theirs（他們的；她們的；它們的） This pen is mine.（這支筆是我的。= This pen is my pen.） The red coat is hers.（那件紅色外套是她的。= The red coat is her coat.） Is this umbrella yours （這把傘是你的嗎？= Is this umbrella your umbrella ） These books are ours.（這些書是我們的。= These books are our books.） The cat is its.（這只貓是它的。= The cat is its cat.） The toys are theirs.（這些玩具是他們的。= The toys are their toys.）
