[(2025·華南師大第二附中期中)]A
Finally came Wednesday! I walked onto campus feeling nervous even though I had walked these same grounds for three years because my junior high school is next door. Everything looked and felt different now that I was in senior high.
I looked at my schedule. The first period—German. Our German teacher was very friendly and I liked her from the beginning. What I didn't like, though, was that I was surrounded by students from other grades, with only five familiar faces.
Then I had to walk all the way across campus and up three flights of stairs to get to my second period—biology. Our teacher's name is peau, and I think that she will teach us a lot this year because she is very to the point. She also has her unique way of saying “be quiet”. She says “alligator”. She explained that she is the king, or should I say the queen, of the class because alligators are the “king of the swamps (沼澤)”.
My third class was English. After surviving two periods without too much of a challenge, I began to feel good. However, the third period changed everything. Mr. V., my English teacher, told us that we would have to write 40 essays (文章) and read AP-level books such as The Odyssey this year. I love reading and writing, but 40 essays AP-level books Now I was scared (擔心的). He also talked about how important it was to be focused. Last year was not a very “focused” year for me. While doing homework, I was often talking on the phone, or busy with a conversation online. I planned on stepping up my homework this year because I wanted to stay an honor student.

Nowadays, more and more students are often under pressure. I am a student and I can judge it when my friends are under pressure. Some of those active ones will suddenly become silent. Some will become too quiet while some are likely to get angry easily.
There are many ways one can deal with pressure. Firstly, students, especially teenagers, must go for exercise often. A short walk in the park would help them relax a lot. Students should also play football, basketball, badminton and other sports to reduce pressure.
Exercise is also said to relax the body muscles (肌肉) and keep us calm. Students must have hobbies such as reading, collecting stamps, fishing or listening to music of their choice. These after-school activities help keep students free from school-related pressure.
Therefore, students should make a timetable. They can also work in groups to solve some of their academic (學業的) problems. Besides making friends and discussing certain topics, group discussions can meliorate the study skills. One of these is the ability to make a checklist of all the activities planned and carried out. This in turn will make study more effective and help avoid unnecessary pressure.
Students should also have balanced meals and enough sleep. These are said to be basic to healthy lives. Students, especially those in examination classes, must sleep and eat well because a healthy body creates a healthy mind. However, going to sleep can sometimes be difficult. So it is necessary to ask for advice from those whom we trust and love. If nothing works, there is a need to go for treatment from the doctors. You may be surprised, but a friend of mine said that screaming (尖叫) at the mountains and laughing your heart out can take away pressure.

Ⅰ.閱讀理解
A
In the US, when the eighth graders leave the middle school, they are often worried about moving to the high school. It is a hard time for them, but it can be an exciting one as well. To make it easier, students need to get familiar with their school.
Even though they've already done this in the middle school, it's still important to find where their classrooms are. Most schools take students to the high school for a visit at the end of their eighth grade year. And, most schools also have a freshman (新生) speech for parents and students before the first year begins.
Sometimes the main office will give away a map of the school. This can help students and parents to find different places in the school.
One way to know your high school more and make new friends is to join a club or play a sport. Schools often offer chances to join different clubs and sports. Fall activities begin in August before the first day of school. If you are not interested in sports, there are clubs for any interest, such as drama, dance, chess, photography, community service, etc. These clubs allow students from different grades. By joining an activity, students can find new friendships, not to mention improving their chances in future college applications (申請).The school office will have a list of activities and information on how to join them.
What's more,to have a great start to a high school year, students can write down some of their worries, and ask for help from teachers and school workers.

[(2025·莆田五校聯考)]B
Where in the classroom do you prefer to sit, and why Scientists have discovered that seating preference not only shows students' personalities, but has a great influence on their school performance. Generally speaking, students show different attitudes depending on where they sit. Based on the research, scientists have developed a funnel-like (像漏斗的) model of “learning zones” to see the relationship between seating and active learning.
In this model, the mouth of the funnel(A) is the best position for learning. Students in this front area prove to be the most active learners. They show a greater desire (渴求) for learning, which leads them to focus better and take a more active part than the rest of the class. Those in the neck of the funnel(B) don't pay the same close attention, but they ask a lot of questions, partly because of the added confidence they feel from being in a safe zone, with others around them. Less desirable is the area “outside the funnel”(C,D), which refers to the side and the back rows, where students take a less active part in classroom activities and find it hard to focus their attention, falling asleep at times.
Studies about learning zones suggest that a change in traditional seating plans can benefit students. In fact, a growing number of teachers have begun less traditional seating plans, such as “U-Type”.There are no side and back areas, so teachers can expect their students to take part in activities more actively and increase student-teacher interaction (互動).
5.According to scientists, what influences students' learning greatly
A. The number of students. B. The time of class.
C. Seating positions. D. The size of the classroom.

[(2025·福州延安中學高一檢測)]C
It's time to go back to high school. Students are excited about the new beginning. But for many kids, the first day is more about friends than classes, and maybe with good reason. On that day,the teacher takes attendance, hands out books, and describes the teaching plan. If a student hears the same things in seven classes, you can't blame (責備) them for thinking it's going to be another long year. When the high schoolers' parents ask what they did in school,it's pretty likely that the answer will be “Nothing.”
It doesn't have to be this way. Last January,Jessica Johnson and Charlotte Jenkins, two ninth-grade physics teachers, suggested a school-wide movement called Make My Day to improve the first day of classes, and many teachers have changed their plan for the first class of a new term because of this.
One English teacher asks students to write 77 words about what they want to get out of her class. Then she reads their responses (回答) out loud. She keeps the responses until the last day of the school year when she hands them back to students so they can see if they have achieved what they wanted. After encouraging kids with a year-long game, she begins the English course.
On the first day of science,a teacher gives students 30 minutes to build something to improve people's lives. A history teacher organizes a debate on whether Swiss cheese is better than cheddar. In math class, another teacher puts students in groups of three, and gives them six minutes to come up with as many answers as possible to the question,“What is math good for?”
The new class activities are part of our school-wide movement to improve the first day of classes. Many teachers choose to use creative ways to encourage kids from day one. And all students seem to enjoy the changes. Quite a few parents told me that their kids said,“I think English (or math or biology or Spanish) is going to be great!”
9.Which best describes the class on the first day of school in paragraph 1
A. A bit strange. B. Too boring.
C. Really wonderful. D. Quite challenging.
10.What is mentioned about Make My Day
A. It was a city-wide movement.
B. It has been done for many years.
C. It was the idea of two P.E. teachers.
D. It was attended by the whole school.
11.What will the students find out in English class at the end of the school year
A. If their expectations have been realized.
B. If their writing skills have improved.
C. If they can understand the 77 words.
D. If the teacher likes their responses.
12.What do the teachers in paragraph 4 have in common
