Grammar
The simple past
We use the simple past to talk about things that happened (or did not happen) in the past.
Last Saturday, our parents came to our school for the Art Festival. Students from different clubs performed on stage

動詞 過去式
例詞
大部分動詞 +ed walk-walked
以-e結尾的動詞 +d used-used
以-y結尾的動詞 去y變i+ed carry-carried
以 “一個重讀元音+ —個輔音”結尾(w或y結尾的除外）的動詞 雙寫輔音字母+ed Plan-planned
Stop-stopped
不規則動詞的過去式形式不以加-ed構成，需要逐個記憶。
一般過去時
一般過去時的用法
表示過去某一時間所發生的動作或存在的狀態，一般與表示過去時間的狀語連用。如：
Last night I watched TV for two hours.
昨晚我看了兩小時電視。
She was ill last week. 她上周病了。
動詞過去式的變化：
1 be動詞：was, were
2 行為動詞的過去式有以下幾種變化形式：
(1) 一般的動詞后直接加-ed。如： look → looked, attend → attended
(2) 以e結尾的動詞后面直接加-d。如：complete → completed, save → saved
(3) 以輔音字母加y結尾的動詞，變y為i，再加-ed。如：
worry → worried, study → studied
(4) 以重讀閉音節結尾，末尾只有一個輔音字母的動詞，先雙寫這個輔音字母，再加-ed。如： stop → stopped, plan → planned
(5) 不規則動詞的過去式形式不以加-ed構成，需要逐個記憶。如：
go → went, keep → kept
常見的不規則動詞變化詳見課本附錄Irregular verbs(《不規則動詞表》)。
（行為動詞）一般過去時的各種句式：
1 肯定句：主語+動詞過去式+ ……。如
We went to the zoo yesterday. 我們昨天去動物園了。
Mike told us a funny story.
邁克給我們講了一個很好笑的故事。
2 否定句：主語+did not(或didn’t)+動詞原形+……。如：
I didn’t see Mary last night. 我昨晚沒有見到瑪麗。
She didn’t have breakfast this morning. 她今早沒吃早餐。
3 一般疑問句：Did+主語+動詞原形+……？
肯定回答：Yes, 主語+did.
否定回答：No, 主語+didn’t. 如：
— Did they attend the club last year
他們去年參加這個俱樂部了嗎？
— Yes, they did. / No, they didn’t.
是的，他們參加了。（不，他們沒參加。）
— Did he play basketball after school last Friday
他上周五放學后打籃球了嗎？
— Yes, he did. / No, he didn’t. 是的，他打了。（不，他沒打。）
4 特殊疑問句：疑問詞+did+主語+動詞原形+……？如：
When did you go to bed last night 你昨晚幾點睡覺的？
What did your mother give you on your last birthday
你上次過生日時你媽媽送你什么了？
一般過去時的時間狀語
常見的用于一般過去時態的時間狀語：
yesterday, yesterday morning, yesterday afternoon,
yesterday evening
last night, last Sunday, last week, last month, last year
two hours ago, three days ago, ten years ago
