形容詞和副詞的最高級
一、用法
表示 三者或三者以上（人或事物）的比較，強調“最……”。
二、規則變化
變化規則 示例（原級→最高級）
單音節/部分雙音節，直接加-est long→longest（最長的）
以 不發音的e 結尾，加 -st nice→nicest（最美好的）; late→latest（最晚的）
以 輔音字母+y 結尾，變y為i，加-est easy→easiest（最容易的）; happy→happiest（最開心的）
以 單個輔音字母 結尾的 重讀閉音節，雙寫尾輔音，加-est big→biggest（最大的）; hot→hottest（最熱的）; thin→thinnest（最瘦的）
多音節/部分雙音節，肯定最高級加most，否定最高級加least most expensive（最貴的）; least expensive（最便宜的）
三、不規則變化（巧記口訣）
壞和病，多和好；一個遠來一個老，little是少不是小。
bad, badly, ill → worst（最壞的/最糟的）
many, much → most（最多的）
good, well → best（最好的）
far → farthest/furthest（最遠的）
old → oldest/eldest（最老的/最年長的）
little → least（最少的）
四、常用句型
the + 最高級 + in/of 短語（在……中最……）
Jim is the tallest boy in his class. 吉姆是他班上個子最高的男孩。
Which/Who + 謂語 + 最高級, A, B or C （A、B、C中，誰最……？）
Who runs fastest, Bob, Mike or Nick 誰跑得最快，鮑勃、邁克還是尼克？
one of + the + 最高級 + 名詞復數（最……的……之一）
China is one of the oldest countries in the world. 中國是世界上最古老的國家之一。
the + 序數詞 + 最高級 + 名詞單數（第……最……的……）
The Yellow River is the second longest river in China. 黃河是中國的第二長河。
the + 最高級 + 名詞 + (that) 從句（最……的……，定語從句）
It’s the funniest movie (that) I have ever seen. 它是我看過的最滑稽的電影。
五、比較級表最高級含義（同義轉換）
比較級 + than any other + 名詞單數
He is taller than any other boy in his class. 他比班里其他任何男孩都高。（= 他是班里最高的男孩。）
比較級 + than the other + 名詞復數
He is taller than the other boys in his class. 他比班里其他男孩都高。（同義句，同上）
六、注意事項
形容詞最高級 前 必須加 the（如：the tallest）；
副詞最高級 前 可省略 the（如：run fastest）。
