語法精講：
一、動名詞作主語表示一般性、重復(fù)性的動作，也可表示已經(jīng)發(fā)生的動作。
Collecting information is important to businessmen.
Listening carefully in class is important for us students.
二、動名詞作定語時(shí)，通常表示它所修飾的名詞的性質(zhì)、功能或用途。
a swimming pool(游泳池)=a pool is used for swimming
(swimming表示pool的用途，是動名詞）
a dining room(餐廳）=a room is used for dining
（dining表示room的用途，是動名詞）
三、動名詞常可用在系動詞be的后面作表語，表示對主語的內(nèi)容進(jìn)行解釋。
My job is taking care of the children.
四、動名詞作賓語是我們高中階段要掌握的重點(diǎn)內(nèi)容，也是歷年來高考試題中考查的一個(gè)重點(diǎn)內(nèi)容。在這個(gè)方面，我們應(yīng)注意把握如下幾點(diǎn)：
1.下列動詞或動詞短語的后面要接動名詞作賓語：admit, appreciate, avoid, consider, delay, dislike, enjoy, escape, excuse, feel like, finish, forgive, give up, imagine, include, keep, mention, mind; miss, practise, put off, risk, suggest(建議），can’t help(禁不住)等。
I cannot hardly imagine Peter sailing across the Atlantic Ocean in five days.
2.下面這些動詞短語中的to是介詞，其后的動詞也要用動名詞：devote oneself to（獻(xiàn)身于），
look forward to, lead to, object to（反對),be opposed to (反對),pay attention to, point to, stick to, be used to等。
He used to be devoted to his teaching when he was young.
3.在介詞后面的動詞通常要用動名詞作賓語。
I must apologize for not letting your, know ahead of time.
