This book was a real adventure, and we’ll enjoy it for many years.

City noise never stops. World Health Organization says that loud noises, like those from traffic or machines, can be a very harmful type of pollution. They can make people feel more stressed, have trouble sleeping, and even cause heart problems. _①__
City sounds are also making life difficult for some animals, for example, the funnel-weaving spiders.
_②_ Funnel-weaving spiders make special webs that are not sticky. They wait in their webs for bugs. Then, they quickly move to bite. I often read about children living in the mountains of China. They don’t have enough learning resources, especially for English. I believe English is not just a language—it also gives people the chance to see the world differently. So I started thinking about what I could do for these children.
Then, I came up with an idea: to make special English learning material! More than10 classmates joined me, and we started a club called “Out of Mountains”.
Our English materials have three parts: listening, reading and writing. We decided to publish them every month and send them to children by email. We also built a website so children could get information more easily. Each of us worked on one part, such as writing content, designing layouts, making illustrations and developing the website. To make the learning process more fun, we chose interesting topics for kids, like holidays.
The hardest part was finding the children. I contacted schools in Liangshan, Sichuan. I also reached out to children through some WeChat official accounts. I felt nervous talking to them and was afraid of being turned down, but I did my best to share our ideas.
In the end, we got the readers we had hoped for. Every time a parent emailed us saying, “my child really liked the story”, it gave us the strength to keep going. I hope our small acts can help give these kids a better future.

寫作評(píng)分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)及評(píng)分說明
一、評(píng)分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)：
一檔文 17-20分：寫出全部內(nèi)容要點(diǎn)，層次清楚、語言流暢，有句式變化，有復(fù)雜結(jié)構(gòu)（至少2-3個(gè)），基本無語法錯(cuò)誤（1-2個(gè)錯(cuò)誤），或有少量由于使用復(fù)雜結(jié)構(gòu)而引起的語法或拼寫錯(cuò)誤，但不影響意義理解。
二檔文13-16分：基本寫出全部內(nèi)容要點(diǎn)，層次清楚、語言流暢，有少量語法錯(cuò)誤（3-4個(gè)錯(cuò)誤）。
三檔文9-12分：寫出大部分內(nèi)容要點(diǎn)，語言基本通順，有一些語法和拼寫錯(cuò)誤，基本不影響意思表達(dá)。
四檔文 5-8分： 寫出一半左右有關(guān)內(nèi)容要點(diǎn)，語言不太通順，語法結(jié)構(gòu)單調(diào)、錯(cuò)誤較多，只有少數(shù)句子可讀，影響理解。
五檔文 0-4分： 詞不達(dá)意，不知所云；只有2-3個(gè)短語可讀。
二、評(píng)分說明：
短語及句子結(jié)構(gòu)不對(duì)，人稱、時(shí)態(tài)、語態(tài)誤用，均為大錯(cuò)。一處大錯(cuò)扣1分。
通篇人稱、時(shí)態(tài)、標(biāo)點(diǎn)錯(cuò)誤，統(tǒng)扣2分。
拼寫、標(biāo)點(diǎn)符號(hào)、冠詞、介詞等方面的錯(cuò)誤為小錯(cuò)。3個(gè)小錯(cuò)相當(dāng)于1處大錯(cuò)。
相同錯(cuò)誤，只扣一次。
詞數(shù)不足80詞扣2分。
文中若出現(xiàn)自己及學(xué)校等真實(shí)名稱扣3分。
