重讀閉音節,末尾只有一個輔音字母,先雙寫這個輔音字母,再加 -er 或 -est ,如:big - bigger - biggest ,hot - hotter - hottest 。
多音節詞和部分雙音節詞,在前面加more或most ,如:interesting - more interesting - most interesting ,beautiful - more beautiful - most beautiful 。
** 不規則變化:good/well - better - best ,bad/badly - worse - worst ,many/much - more - most ,little - less - least ,far - farther/further - farthest/furthest
用法:
比較級:用于兩者之間的比較,結構為 “比較級 + than” ,表示 “比……更……” 。如:He is taller than his brother.(他比他哥哥高。);She runs faster than me.(她跑得比我快。)
