(一)如何推理判斷
推理判斷是根據所聽的內容進行合理的推斷,以此來得出正確的答案。推理判斷首先要學會捕捉“弦外之音”,感受說話人的不同語調所表達的不同的語義和情感,如降調表示贊同、肯定;升調表示懷疑、驚訝或否定。其次側重如but等表示轉折的詞后的信息,這些詞后的信息往往是關鍵信息。

(二)復習語調
Ⅰ.語調 
語調(intonation),即說話的腔調,就是一句話里聲調(pitch)高低抑揚輕重的配制和變化。世界上沒有一種語言是用單一的語調說出的,以英語為例,英語有五種基本語調:升調(?)、降調(?)、升降調(∧)、降升調(∨)以及平調(―→)。一句話除了詞匯意義(lexical meaning),還有語調意義(intonation meaning)。所謂詞匯意義就是話中所用詞的意義,而語調意義就是說話人用語調所表示的態度或口氣。一句話的詞匯意義加上語調意義才算是完全的意義。同樣的句子,語調不同,意思就會不同,有時甚至會相差千里。如:

Jean用升調說“Sorry”,其意思是“I didn't hear you. Could you say that again, please?”

Ⅱ.語調的使用 
1.降調:表示說話人態度肯定、意思表達完整、語法結構獨立,常用于以下情況:

但是,當用特殊疑問句請別人重復剛說過的話時,要用升調。如:
