I didn’t start working on the project until (直到) Thursday evening. And I told my parents about it after dinner. At first, they were angry with me, and I felt really bad, but then they said they’d help me. We researched volcanoes online and went to a store just before it closed. We were lucky to buy all the things to make the volcano. My father helped me to draw the volcano and my mother colored it, and I wrote the report. We worked on it until midnight. The next day, I gave an amazing talk. All of my classmates said I had made a cool volcano, and the teacher took a picture of me with it.
I This taught me that I could wait until the last minute and still do an excellent job. But it was the wrong lesson to learn, and it took me the next ten years to realize it was wrong. In high school, everything was more difficult, but because of my volcano, I told myself I could wait until the last minute. So I failed (失敗) a lot. I didn’t pass my exam. Impossible Foods is a company in Silicon Valley, California. They make hamburgers and other delicious meat and dairy products (奶制品). There’s something very unusual about their food: Their meat and dairy don’t come from animals, but from plants. Yes, plants! I didn’t believe it at first, but it’s true. Thanks to Impossible Foods, you can eat a delicious hamburger that looks and tastes like meat but is made with only plants.
How does the Impossible Hamburger look and taste so real There is something called heme (亞鐵血紅素). It’s an ingredient (成分) that is in both plants and animals. Heme gives beef its red color. Impossible Foods uses the heme found in plants, not animals, to make the Impossible Hamburger. It’s healthy, and the plant ingredients don’t hurt the environment (環境). Clever, isn’t it
So, why does Impossible Foods make Impossible Hamburgers Well, animal farming uses about 50% of the Earth’s land and 25% of the Earth’s water. That’s a very expensive way to make food. So, it seems to me that the Impossible Hamburger is a great example of a food of the future - good for the environment and good for your health. Soon it’ll be cheap to eat, too!
Maybe you think all of this is science fiction, but it’s not. Twenty restaurants in the U. S. now sell the Impossible Hamburger. Soon these delicious hamburgers will be everywhere. In my opinion, it’s the best thing to happen to food in years!
Why are meat and dairy in Impossible Foods special
A. They come from the U. S. B. They’re from the plants.
C. They look like animals. D. They taste very delicious.

A. Size. B. Color. C. Price. D. Name.
What’s the main idea of Paragraph 3
A. The reasons to make Impossible Hamburgers.
B. The ways to cook Impossible Hamburgers.
C. The future prices of Impossible Hamburgers.
D. The ingredients of Impossible Hamburgers.
What can we learn from the passage
A. You’ll be unhealthy if you eat Impossible Hamburgers.
B. Impossible Hamburgers are not good for the environment.
C. You can’t buy Impossible Hamburgers in the U. S. now.
D. Impossible Hamburgers will be popular in the near future.

①Snow can be fun, but what does snow do Is it good for plants Is it good for animals Is it good for you and me
②Snow covers (覆蓋) plants that must stay in the ground all winter. Snow is like a blanket (毯子). Because the plants are covered, wind, ice, and cold cannot hurt them. Plants that are covered with snow can live through the cold winter. Animals like mice stay under the ground all winter, too. Snow helps to keep them warm. Snow is good for plants and animals.
③Snow protects people, too. In the past, people in the far north sometimes built houses of snow. They built a house from hard blocks (磚) of snow. They put blocks up one by one to make a round snow house. Sometimes people today still build houses like this.
④Snow is good in other ways. Melted (融化) snow gives us water for our wells and our rivers. When winter is over, the sun warms the snow. The snow melts slowly, and water goes into the soil. Plants grow well in this soil.
⑤Sometimes snow is not good. Heavy snow makes life hard for animals and people. When snow is thicker, it may be hard for animals to look for food. Also, thick snow may bring trouble to people’s life. For example, people may fall down and get hurt. What’s worse, when the snow of winter melts fast in spring, sometimes there is more water than rivers can carry, so the rivers may overflow (漫出). The whole town is in danger.
How does the writer start the passage
A. By telling stories. B. By listing numbers.
C. By asking questions. D. By giving examples.
How does snow help plants during winter
A. It makes plants grow faster. B. It keeps plants from wind and cold.
C. It gives food to the plants. D. It changes the color of the plants.
What problem may happen when snow melts fast in spring
A. Animals may get hungry. B. The air may become dirty.
C. The rivers may overflow. D. People may not get hurt easily.
Which of the following is the structure of the passage
A. B. C. D.
