New rules for the school dining hall
Dear students,
We would like to make new rules for our dining hall to reduce overcrowding (過度擁擠). Students in different grades will go to the dining hall at different times. The following time table will be used from October of this year to March of next year. Please get to know when you can go to the dining hall for lunch.

Please do not cut in line. ●Please do not push or shout at others at any time. ●Please take all the tableware (餐具) to the stacking area (堆放區) and stack correctly. ●Please put the rubbish in the sorting bin (分類桶). Please enter through the entrance and leave through the exit.

In the summer of 1949, the Communist Party of China (CPC, 中國共產黨) posted a notice in some newspapers. It asked people to make their own designs (設計) for the national flag. The new country needed a symbol.
Nearly 3,000 people sent in their designs. The winning design was made by a man named Zeng Liansong from Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province.
After reading the notice in the newspaper, Zeng spent many days thinking about it. One night, when he looked up at the sky, he saw many stars shining—they were like rising hopes. Then, he decided that the stars should be the main feature of the flag.
Zeng drew a large yellow star in the upper left corner of the flag. This star stood for (代表) the CPC． He then placed four smaller yellow stars to its right. These stood for the Chinese people. The people are closely united around the great Communist Party of China.
Zeng was quite surprised to see that his design had been chosen. On October 1, 1949, the five-star red flag appeared for the first time in Tian’anmen Square in Beijing. It was raised by Chairman Mao Zedong. Zeng’s heart was filled with pride!
