Look at these sentences.
英語的動詞中,有的后面要接名詞或
代詞等作賓語,有的單獨作謂語,而
有的動詞要接作表語的形容詞或名詞
等。我們把后面接表語的動詞稱為系
動詞。最常用、也是同學們最熟悉的
系動詞就是be;除be以外,表感覺和
知覺的動詞也可以是系動詞。
系動詞的定義:
表感覺和知覺的動詞有:look, smell,
taste, sound, feel, 相當于漢語的“看上
去”、“聞起來”,“嘗起來”,“聽起
來”,“摸起來”。
注意: 這類系動詞與系動詞be不同,其
否定形式和疑問形式的構成要加助動詞
才行。如:
Does the party sound noisy?
聚會(聽起來)很吵嗎?
The dishes don’t smell very nice to me.
這些菜我聞著并不很香。
Does he look worried?
他看起來很焦慮嗎?
The cake doesn’t taste delicious.

系動詞(連系動詞):它本身有詞義,
但不能單獨作謂語,后面必須跟表語構
成系表結構,說明主語的狀態、性質、
特征等。
