a lot of = lots of 既修飾可數名詞復數，又修飾不可數名詞。
2) It (形式主語) is + adj. (for sb.) to do sth. (真正主語)
“對某人來說干某事是……”, 例如：

4. One 11-year-old boy, Liangliang, crosses the river
every school day.
1） 11-year-old 為多個詞匯構成的復合形容詞，用連字符“-”鏈接，用來修飾名詞 boy。這種結構還有很多，例如：
a four-day trip 一個四天的旅行
a 30-page book 一本30頁的書
a three-room house 一個三間屋的房子
注意：
這里的“year, day, page, room”都要用單數。

2）cross 作動詞用，“穿過，越過”的意思。主要表示
在物體表面上橫穿，如：橫過馬路、過橋、過河等，
相當于 go across 。

在周一到周五上學期間時我不能看電視，在周末我也不過只能看兩小時。

afraid adj. “害怕的；畏懼的”;在句子中只能作表語。 常見句型有：
（1）be afraid “ …… 害怕的”
The girl is very afraid. 小女孩很害怕。
（2）be afraid of … “害怕 ……”
My sister is afraid of snakes. 我妹妹害怕蛇。
（3）be afraid to do sth. “害怕（不敢）做某事”
I’m afraid to speak in front of other people.
（4）be afraid of +v -ing “怕（擔心）做某事”
I am afraid of falling into water.

like 在這里作介詞，而不是動詞。意思是“像…”。
