一般過去時
一般過去時表示過去某個時間里發(fā)生的動作或狀態(tài);過去習(xí)慣性、經(jīng)常性的動作、行為。
動詞 be 的過去時的基本結(jié)構(gòu):
肯定:主語 + was/were + 其他;
否定:主語 + was/were + not + 其他;
一般疑問:were/was + 主語 + 其他。

動詞 be 的過去時有四巧:
一是時間狀語巧,表示過去的短語要記牢;

四是疑問句式巧, was/were 向前跑(提前)。
【一巧】 時間狀語巧。一般過去時表示過去發(fā)生的動作或存在的狀態(tài),恰巧與表示過去的一些時間狀語連用。
例如:yesterday, last night/week/month/year, last Saturday, the day before yesterday, in 1998, five?years?ago 等。
【二巧】 形式巧。它與一般現(xiàn)在時一樣,形式多樣:當(dāng)主語是第一人稱單數(shù)或第三人稱單數(shù)時,謂語動詞用 was;主語是第二人稱或其他人稱復(fù)數(shù)時,謂語動詞用 were。例如:

【四巧】 疑問句式巧。把 was, were 提到句首,句末用問號即可變?yōu)橐话阋蓡柧洹<矗篧as (Were) + 主語 + 表語 + 其他?這恰巧與動詞 be 的一般現(xiàn)在時的疑問句式相似。
例如: Were you at home the day before yesterday? 前天你在家嗎? Was she late this morning?

更巧的是疑問句的答語也相似,肯定回答用“Yes, 主語 + was/were.”;否定回答用“No, 主語 + wasn’t/weren’t.”。

哪些詞在句子中需重讀
1. 一般來說,在句子中需重讀的詞都是實詞,比如名詞、動詞、形容詞、副詞、數(shù)詞、代詞等。不重讀的多為虛詞,比如冠詞、連詞、介詞、感嘆詞等。
例如:
 The streets are wide and clean.
這句話中的streets是名詞,wide和clean是形容詞,它們都要重讀; the, are, and不重讀。
 I am so glad to see you again.
這句話中的so, glad, see, again要重讀,而I, am, to, you不重讀。
2. 有時候虛詞也要重讀,以下幾點需注意:
1) 強調(diào)或突出某個虛詞或be動詞時應(yīng)將其重讀。例如:
 We saw him playing by the river.
這句話中的we和him一般不重讀,但為了表示強調(diào)也可以重讀。比如,如果we重讀,則強調(diào)是“我們”而不是別人看見。
