What message do these posters share ？
Use visuals to predict content
They show that wildlife are endangered. Every day there are many species dying out or disappearing.
So it is very important to protect them.
It shows that there are wildlife dying out by illegal hunting every minute, so stop illegal hunting immediately.
It shows that there are about 150 to 200 wildlife species dying out every 24 hours.
Up to 73 million sharks end up in shark fin soup each year. We should protect wildlife and say “No” to shark fin soup.
Which one moves you the most ？
The second one. Because I feel surprised that there are so many species dying out every day.
Before-Listening
Look at the picture and the words on the picture, then predict what the content is about .
There is a monkey in the picture covering its face with its hand, which seems to express its sorrow. There are some words which introduce the content: What on Earth Are We Doing to Our Planet? So it mainly tells that because of our human’s activities such as hunting, polluting, the wildlife are endangered or dying out.

blue whale: I know that they're being hunted and their number is getting dramatically smaller, so they're in danger of extinction. Blue whales need large and clear water habitats, so it's difficult for them to adapt to the changes.
panda: I know that panda is the treasure of China. Now the number is about 2,000 and China has built some national natural preserves such as the Wo Long National Natural Preserve in Si Chuan to provide enough bamboo for them.
Arican elephants: Because of their ivory, African elephants are being hunting illegally. So the number of them is dramatically decreasing. Luckily, many countries have passed laws to ban on trading the ivory and protect elephants.

Pronunciation---stressed syllables
音節是英語當中最小的單位。每個音節含有一個音節核，通常由元音音素構成，輔音是音節的分界線。所以，音節就分成單音節、雙音節和多音節。


A.單音節詞
1.兩輔音之間不管有多少個元音，一般都是一個音節。如：bed，seat， beau'ty。
2.兩元音字母之間有一個輔音字母時，輔音字母歸后一音節，如：stu'dent，la'bour。
3.有兩個輔音字母時，一個輔音字母歸前一音節，一個歸后一音節，如：let'ter，win'ter

4.不能拆分的字母組合按字母組合劃分音節。如：fa'ther，tea'cher。

B. 雙音節詞
1.有 a-, be-, de-, re-, res-, in-, im-, en-, em-, es-, ex-, con-, com-, dis-, mis-, pre-, per-, pro-, trans- 等前綴的詞，第二個音節是重音。如： be'lieve, de'cide
2.有 de-, in-, re-, con-, pre- 等前綴的重音與詞義和詞類有關, 一般名詞的重音在第一個音節上，其它的詞性在第二個音節上。如：'present pre'sent

一般在第一個音節重讀。如：sorry, movie, cover
3.有些復合詞和帶有前綴 re-, ex-, un-, pre-, post-, 等的詞，有兩個重音。如：?out'side, ?re'tell

一般倒數第三個音節是重音。如：'difficult, oppor'tunity, 'family, e'conomy, uni'versity
