1. I’m afraid I don’t like cheese.
Language points
afraid 表示 “恐怕的，擔心的，害怕的”。
此處I’m afraid表示婉轉的語氣。如：
Never be afraid to express yourself.
不要害怕表達你的情感。
Don't be afraid of the dog.
別怕那只狗。
I’m afraid I can’t go there.
我恐怕不能去那兒。
2. It tastes too strong ...
strong在這里是“(味道)很濃、很重的” 意思，還有“強壯的, 強大的”的意思。
The coffee is strong.
咖啡味道很濃。
This farmer is strong.
這位農夫很強壯。
strong smell? 濃烈的氣味

be done 做好了，完成了
Don't put off till tomorrow what can be done today.

try 還可作動詞, 意為“努力做,嘗試”, 其后可接名詞、代詞、動詞不定式和動名詞。常見的詞組有: try one’s best to do sth.意為“盡最大努力做某事”；try on 意為“試穿”；try out 意為“試用”。如：
You should try it again.
你應該再試一次。
I will try to learn English.
我要設法學會英語。

try to do sth. 著重指盡全力去做某事,但不強調成功與否,其意義相當于try one’s best to do sth.；try doing sth. 著重指試著通過某種方法去做某事, 看是否有效。如：
Try to get here earlier.
請盡量早一點來這。
Try cleaning it with petrol.
試試用汽油把它擦干凈。 ????
5. Shall I get the sugar?
shall為助動詞, 當說話人主動提出要做某事，或主動提出幫助時，常用shall I …?如：
Shall I get some food for you?
我去給你弄點食物吧？
Shall I fry the fish for dinner?
晚飯要不要我炸魚？
shall用在問句中表示征求對方意見或提建議, 主要用于第一、三人稱, 意為“……好嗎? 要不要……?”。如：
Shall we begin now?
我們現在開始好嗎?
Shall I wait outside?
我在外面等好嗎?
Shall I turn on the lights?
我開燈好嗎?
6. … are you sure that’s sugar?
sure用作形容詞，意為“肯定的；當然的；有把握的”。
1). be sure (不接其它詞)，意為“肯定的”。如：
Are you sure?
你能肯定嗎？
I think he is coming, but I'm not quite sure.
我想他要來，但我不十分肯定。 　　
2). be sure to do sth. 表示要求，意為“務必做某事；請一定做某事”，多用于祈使句。如：
Be sure to telephone me and give me all the news.
請一定要給我打電話,讓我知道所有的消息。
be sure to do sth. 還可表示一種推斷，意為“一定做某事；肯定做某事”。如：
The child is sure to be a teacher.
這孩子一定會成為一名教師。
You are sure to win.
你(們)肯定會贏。
3). be sure of (doing) sth. 表示人對某事(物)的看法，意為“對……有把握”。其后常接名詞、代詞或動詞-ing形式。如：
Are you sure of passing the exam?
你有把握通過考試嗎？
4). “be sure+從句”意為“確信”。如：
I'm not sure if he will come.
我不確信他是否會來。
