1. —Is there a hospital near here?--這附近有醫(yī)院嗎？
—Yes, there is. It’s on Bridge Street.--有，在橋街上。
（1）這是There be句型的一般疑問句，其結(jié)構(gòu)為“Be(Is/Are)+there +主語+其他？”即把be提到句首，句尾變問號。肯定回答是：Yes, there is/are.否定回答是：No，there isn’t/aren’t.

例如：--Is there a book on the desk? 課桌上有本書嗎？
--Yes, there is.是的，有。/No, there isn’t. 不，沒有。
【溫馨提示】
There be 句型表示“某地有某物；在某地有某物”。be動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)取決于后面的名詞單復(fù)數(shù)，即主謂一致采用就近原則。


例如：There is some milk in the glass.玻璃杯中有一些牛奶。
There are ten boys and a girl in the classroom.教室里有一個女孩和十個男孩。

【溫馨提示】
表達(dá)“在街上”，英國人用in,美國人用on,如果表達(dá)“……街……號”，則用at。例如：
He lives in/on Xinhua Street.他住在新華街。
She lives at 88 Huayuan Street.他住在花園街88號。
near 介詞，表示“在……的附近” Suzhou is near Shanghai.蘇州在上海附近。
形容詞，意為“近的”，表示的“近”是相對的。反義詞是far“遠(yuǎn)”。 His home is near to the post office.他家離郵局很近。

Hello. I’m Steve. This week I want to tell you about my favorite hotel. It’s in the west (西部) of Ireland. I think the best time to go there is June. I often go there with my family or friends. The hotel’s name is The White Hotel because people always paint it that color. The hotel is on a very beautiful island —?Achill?Island.
The White Hotel is a very old hotel in this part of the country. People built (建造) it in 1859. Lots of people enjoy going there. You can see the sea or mountains from every room.
