Oh! Polly, you can speak English! Can you sing an English song?這個小節是講 can 的一個用法：表示“能力”，此外 can 還可以表示“可能性”。情態動詞 can 不能獨立作謂語用，要想表達“能”干什么什么、“會”干什么什么，后面得放一個原形動詞，這個原形動詞我們把它叫“主動詞”。 can 有過去式---could，可見它可以反應時間，所以 can 具有時間助動詞的特點，于是你也可以認為：情態動詞也是一種助動詞，其用法也和助動詞do類似：后面跟動詞原形；提問的時候須提前；否定的時候后面加 not；有過去式變化---could。
You are so smart!smart - 聰明的，敏銳的。smart phone ：智能手機 What else can you do?此句注意 else 的位置，常常考的是不定代詞后跟 else 的用法，如 anything else, something else, someone else 等。如：Whom else have you invited? 你還邀請了別的誰？What else do you want? 您還想要點別的什么？I am waiting for someone else. 我在等別人。
I'd like to take these flowers to the party.take ... to ... 把什么什么帶到什么什么地方
表示“拿”的動詞：
take--從你身邊拿走；
bring -- 從別的地方那到你身邊；
fetch -- 先從你身邊離開，過去再拿過來。 I can't count so many flowers.can 的否定句，在can 后面加 not。副詞 so 修飾 many ，如此多的花。
